lLp said it best , political 'promises' are not actual promises to deliver,, they are promises to ATTEMPT to persuade several hundred members of government to deliver

Sorry, that sounds like an attempt at further eroding and redefining what people should expect from their leaders. A promise is a promise. If you can't or don't intend to keep them keep your mouth closed Otherwise it's called "lying." Plain and simple.

My sentiments precisely!

No a political promise is just telling the voters what they want to hear knowing damn well that your not going to follow through on them.

Which by definition is a LIE

lol,, now we can prove what others KNOW?

Im surrounded by such mindreaders...lol

H did the same thing I have done before "maturing".

Told you he loved you and would always be there for you. Later, you realized it was just to get into yer pants.

In his case, to get into your purse or wallet.

You don't have to be a mind reader. Simply listen to the words that come from their mouths and hold them accountable. Why do liberals try to complicate the truth? It's very simple; mean what you say and say what you mean. That's called integrity. Some Americans still have it and require it of their leaders, as well.

There is enough responsibility to go around. I call it intelligence though. One person cant promise what four hundred people(congress) will do, only what they are going to try to PERSUADE them to do.

Then they should be forthright and honest instead of lying to their constituents.

but their constituents are too fickle to settle for 'I promise to try'....

oh, I do. I speak from observing the mainstream culture (media). IF a politician said they would promise to try, the media would tear them apart as not being 'leadership' material. Any hint of humility (after the elections) and the media tears a candidate apert.

The mainstream wants a cowboy in office, one who will demand and order and one with whom you are either 'with or against'...sort of thing.

I am just one man and I don't represent the mainstream anything. But I do speak honestly and expect the same from the leaders I vote into office to represent my interests.

yeah, so do I except the goal is for them to GET in office or else their chance to truly 'represent' me is null and void

so I learn to read what they are saying as a representation of what they stand for moreso than what they might be able to accomplish once the MAINSTREAM elects them

I wish I still had the picture of him during the primaries where Hillary, Richardson and the others had their hands over their heart during the national anthem but nope the "Chosen One" didn't.

I thought hand over heart was for the pledge of allegiance

what does the hand signify when facing AWAY from the flag during a national anthem?

I suppose they're "special" and their hearts are on their left side.
