President, doctor, senator, officer ,, are all indications of what someones JOB TITLE is,,, sir or mam are just GENERAL terms of respect that extend to nothing but GENDER |

well, in fairness and logic, there is a reason people HAVE titles, or else we would just be calling everyone mr and mrs President, doctor, senator, officer ,, are all indications of what someones JOB TITLE is,,, sir or mam are just GENERAL terms of respect that extend to nothing but GENDER It's called a power trip. In the military there are three acceptable ways of addressing a Senator and he did in in s correct way. Calling out a Two or Three Star is not a wise thing to do. |

In the military you address your senior officers as sir and those who are lower rank than yours you address by rank. So Obama would address him as general. |
