Since it's October, does anybody have any good scary movie ideas?

I've never had a movie scare me. I just watched the original "Carrie" that has Sissy Spacek and John Travolta in it and it didn't scare me. The only part that made me jump was at the very end where the hand comes out of the grave. I don't know why it made me jump though 'cause I expected it to.

I got one,

a serial killer is staling New York just like Jack the Ripper in Old London but it is a warped satanic out to open a gateway to hell and he does unleashing several demons who rape and kill him and begin to terrorize the city at night. Oddly a disenfranchised Catholic Priest and a group of street thugs are the only ones capable of facing the menace in an Unholy alliance with the Devil Himself becasue he know better than to mess with the fabric of the way things are. That and he is not ab out to be bested by any cut rate demons who are barely fit to lick the soles of the Devil's feet.

a woman joins a dating site on the internet

deep down she hates men..but flirts aimlessly with them...making them fall for her

she sets up meeting places like s&m bars....swingers parties...motel rooms

where she murders them in blood curdling detail....cutting off their penises and keeping them in a freezer in her garage

and all the while she is a wife and mother...................

Scary is subjective. Personally I never thought Brian De Palma intended Carrie to be scary until the ending, even King's original novel isn't scary to me. But still excellent none the less!

Here's movies I think are scary/creepy, and ones I've seen on top scariest lists:

Session 9
Ringu
The Changeling '80
Dead Birds
The Other '72
The Devil's Backbone
Don't Look Now
Dead End '03
The Orphanage
Ju-on: The Grudge(the original Japanese version)
Ju-on '00
The Innocents '61
The Brood
Rosemary's Baby
The Descent
Who Can Kill A Child?
The Children '08
Alien
A Tale Of Two Sisters '03
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre '74
The Exorcist
Quatermass and the Pit
The Shining(Kubrick's version)
Invasion Of The Body Snatchers '78
REC '07
Carnival Of Souls '62
Night Of The Living Dead '68
Wait Until Dark '67
The Entity
Audition
The Omen '76
Sea Of Dust
Jacob's Ladder
Psycho '60
Black Christmas '74
Ils(aka Them)
The Haunting '63
Dead Of Night '45
The Uninvited '44

Scary TV:(TV Movies, Miniseries)

Don't Be Afraid Of The Dark
Don't Go To Sleep
Salems' Lot '79
Trilogy Of Terror
Something Evil
Bad Ronald
When Michael Calls
The Dark Secret of Harvest Home
Ghostwatch
Gargoyles
Dark Night Of The Scarecrow

I agree with T. Go to a dark room and watch Ringu, The Grudge and Audition by yourself. These movies creeped me out the first time I watched them years ago. If you don't feel the same way, you must have balls of steel, woman! laugh

Oh, make sure you watch the original Japanese version, because the remakes were blech.

a guy walks into a bar.

says to bartender - i want a gin and tonic. bartender obliges.

another man walks up and propositions guy for sex.

guy is straight.

man is scary.

guy denies.

man then asks how his daughter and wife are, and asks if they're still living at "yada yada yada lane".

guy is terrified.

man demands to be bought a drink, and after he drinks it explains that he has 87 minutes to convince him that his child and wife should stay alive or they'll be raped and executed.

i think it's a little scary.

It's the proper way to watch a good horror film! bigsmile But I will share this story...

I was watching a good, suspense-filled horror movie. All the lights were off, the room was pitch black and cold. The only light came from the tv, where I sat close to it.

My eyes were glued to the screen, I was concentrating on the gory scene unfolding in front of me. My toes were curled from the suspense of it all, the movie was at its climax, and I was holding my breath for what would happen next.

Then I had this feeling, something I couldn't ignore, that I was being watched. I knew I was alone in the house and locked every door and window before I went inside my room to watch. Despite that knowledge, though, I couldn't help but feel my heart starting to beat furiously fast.

Suddenly, I heard it...heavy breathing coming from outside my window. My curtains were long and heavy, but there was a gap where it got parted, and I saw a small, white head looking straight at me! My heart stopped and I was ready to let out a blood-curdling scream when it suddenly let its tongue out and barked. It was my Japanese spitz dog. laugh

Maybe I'm wrong.(It has happened) but I think singlentri_ing was asking for scary movie suggestions, and not plots.

It was cool seeing the original Stanley Hotel which inspired King to write the book, but that was about it. The kid that played Danny....ugh.
