Topic: Have we made Jesus a false god?

It has been said that when a man claims to be God he is actually a false god.

Just wondering how this pertains to the intrepretation that we have placed on the words of Jesus as related to us by his disciples.

AB somtimes I think you try to be difficult, however, I do believe we have created Jesus to be a false god. I also can understand how others believe in him though.

FALSE GOD ANYONE WHO CLAIMS TO BE GOD IS A FALSE GOD. NO ONE IS GOD BUT JEHOVAH GOD HIMSELF. AS FAR AS JESUS BEING A FALSE GOD HOW IS THAT SO HE NOR HIS DISIPLES REFERRED TO HIM AS GOD BUT A MESSENGER OF GOD.

Eagle, I believe the concept of having to go through Jesus to get to God could be the reason for such a misunderstanding. I have heard people mention Jesus my savior. Did Jesus actually do the saving or did the God who's message Jesus taught by word and deed. I'd have to go with the God who's message was brought and taught.

This is a tricky question. Jesus never claimed to be god. He was the son of god. That would be loop hole. I agree I think people have false gods today and not only in Jesus.

I do not believe he is God but I have been told many times by 'believers' that he is and they have backed that statement with scripture of their own intrepretation.

I AGREE WITH MOST MOST WHO AM I TO JUDGE FOR I AM NOT GOD, I BELEIVE JESUS IS OUR SAVIOR HE DIED FOR US FOR OUR SINS, AND GOD IS GOD WHO INSTILLED THE CORRECT BELIEFS IN HIS SON, WHO THEN TRIED TO INSTILL IT IN US THRU HIM. WHO THEN MADE THE CHOICE OF DIEIN FOR US. IVE ALWAYS SAID I WASNT A FOLLOWER BUT WHEN IT OMES TO JESUS CHRIST I WILL FOLLOW HIM FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE

I am certain that the argument about whether Jesus was/is God came a while after his life. They were fighting over it in 325 AD quite a lot. Now the matter is accepted as part of the structure of beliefs according to the church. See the Nicene Creed for reference. Oh yeah, the bible came after that too, most of it anyway.

What is accepted today as the bible. There was a lot more to it before 325 AD and the Nicean Council but that part was ordered destroyed by the Roman Emperor Constintine once the council had decided on what would be allowed in the 'acceptable bible.

to start with the beginning i'm happy my brother AB is posting again.
now i have to disagree with him. i do believe Jesus is from the same esence as God. ergo He is God as well.
If He weren't I would not be calling you my brother.

Lonely, would Adam then also be God?

I just have to remember that you guys are ignorant. You don't know better, that's why you post things like this.

No, Adam is not God. Adam was created. Jesus has always existed, Jesus created the universe. Jesus spoke to Moses from the burning bush. Jesus inspired the Bible. Read John 1.

however, Jesus would not like us call our brothers and sisters ignorants.
towards the end they are still our brothers and sisters
no matter what they think or believe
we are not the judges of each other
we have to give them light with our actions
calling them ignorants just will give them darkness
In the sense of adam i must agree with spider.
Adam is created, Jesus always existed and is one with the Father and the Holy spirit.

TheLonelyWalker,

Don't tell me what you think Jesus would or would not say, because I don't care. Jesus said "Forgive them for they know not what they do" Ignorance doesn't mean stupidity, it means a lack of knowledge. They lack the knowledge that Jesus is God, so in that regard, they are ignorant. If you want to attach your own meaning to suggest that I am insulting someone...well, I'm not surprised. You have no tolerance for other Christians, just people who insult and spit venom at Christians.

Jesus was born way way way after Moses. I just will not believe mythical nonsense.

It says nowhere in the old testement part of the bible anything about Jesus being present either at genesis or during the time of Moses.

I have read and re-read those parts you have quoted to me in the past about this subject and your intrepretation of it is a grasping at vague wisps of smoke in order to bolster an attempt to make of the man more than he was.

well my brother u r being extremely bias.
i'm just being open minded, and doing what the Lord tells me to do: "love your brothers in the same way you would like to be loved."
Spider I hope you can see my position
I would love to share heaven with you and with all the people who don't agree with what we believe.
that's the bottom of line

AB for you
the name of Jesus is not openly in the old testament, but it's implied in every great person in the old testament because the people was not ready
God taught humanity little by little
