he shouldn't have been so racist...not ALL muslims bombs under their clothes... its really not even all that complex,,its about CONTRACTS in my personal life, I have the freedom to express my self with my wardrobe, but my JOB might require me to refrain from certain clothing in my personal life, I might have the freedom to make whatever exploitive presentations I wish or engage in whatever sexual activity, but If I am a TEACHER, I may find that I will lose my job if a nude photo is found on the internet our personal choices are a different matter from the contractual AGREEMENTS We make with others,,,,he broke his, he lost his job like anyone else breaking an agreement could,,,, contracts had nothing to do with it... they didn't like what he said. oh, and he was just hired by fox in a multi year deal...so much for fox being racist, huh http://www.cnn.com/2010/SHOWBIZ/10/21/npr.analyst.fired/index.html?hpt=T2 well, not saying fox is racist or not, but I will let you in on a secret many RACISTS have BEST FRIENDS of the 'other race'...lol Im sure they have no problem hiring them either, as long as they act and say and believe what they wish them to act and say and believe,,, and contract has plenty to do with it when you dont heed a managers or superiors REPEATED WARNINGS,,, |

NPR is over the top left wing lunacy. Juan Williams was waaaaaaaaaaay to moderate for their liking so they looked for some reason to fire him. |
|

|
One more thing. NPR is publicly funded hence the name National Public Radio and anyone can go on the air with them; however, if you do not share left wing values they have no room for you on the air. Being as though NPR is publicly funded and this man was fired for exercising his 1st amendment right they should lose their public funding and let Al Frankin support them. I love how the left always talks about 1st amendment atrocities....that is unless the left is committing the atrocity. |

Mr. Williams was right, political correctness has paralyized and blinded people to the point where its impossible to express any sentiment. To say that one feels personal fear when seeing a particular person can in no way be compared to saying that all people of a particular group are bad.
I have fears just like everyone else and most of you know me to be one of the bloodiest bleeding hearted liberals around..yet given the reality of life today, its foolish to abandon a healthy sense of caution because it may or may not be PC... the climate of "you are either with me or against me" is tearing the United States apart, and the "enemy" is quietly and easily slipping in through the cracks...its amazing to see it happening from afar...you folks seem to forget that you are ALL Americans..long gone is the common ground and its now "my way or the highway"..well, you can see what its doing to you as a country and as a people... |

This is the left wings racist ideology coming to light again.
The left wing loves blacks that toe the line and buy into their crap. If you are black and don't do what the elitest white liberals tell you then you get the Clarence Thomas treatment. The hypocrisy of the left wing knows no bounds.. If he had worked for Fox News and got fired every last one of you liberals would have been posting that this is another example of Fox News and the rights racist "undercurrents". Pathetic.. |

Its just lefties being bullies on the tax payer dime and they need to lose it. |

Here is another guy who needs an inoperable tumor at the base of his spine. Taxpayer-funded National Public Radio jettisons Fox News' Juan Williams, but takes $1.8 million from liberal icon George Soros for 100 new reporters at member stations. |

Besides all of that........weren't the terrorists on planes wearing American clothing anyway?
So to see a Muslim in obvious Muslim clothing is in no way a reminder of the terrorists on 9/11 except in your mind. |

I agree and I disagree. Some jobs require a certain PUBLIC IMAGE To be maintained. Let me give an analogy. I want to be a teacher. I had considered in the past doing x rated photos. Had I done that and become a teacher and it was later discovered that those photos were on the web(didnt even have to happen while I Was employed as a teacher), I could loose my job. Do I think thats fair? no,,,,, do I have the option, knowing that information to not take the job? yes does it make any sense for me to take the job knowing that I will be held to that 'unfair' standard, and accept a paycheck(my employers part of the contract) and then be upset if they terminate my contract for not upholding the agreed upon standard? no contracts are funny things, they can be long, but they are binding(unless intentionally misrepresented),, once signed,,,,fair or not |

No. They were wearing custom tailored suits by an Italian designer who lives in Saudi Arabia. |

Fired analyst Juan Williams suggests cutting federal funds for NPR http://content.usatoday.com/communities/ondeadline/post/2010/10/fired-analyst-juan-williams-suggests-cutting-federal-funds-for-npr/1?csp=34news In June, Colorado Republican U.S. Rep. Doug Lamborn introduced legislation to cut funding for the Corporation of Public Broadcasting after fiscal year 2012. It is in committee. The corporation is the primary channel for federal funds distributed to public media including NPR. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20101022/ap_on_en_ot/us_npr_analyst_fired_64 |
