I'll make it easy for you: If you're a male on this site, you're looking for sex. That's what men look for. If you wanted dynamic or interesting forums, there are hundreds of other sites with forums that are more interesting and don't feature 1,000 "is the person above you hot or not?" topics. If you are a woman on mingle, and looking for a man that isn't talking to you just for sex or dirty talk, you're deluding yourself. I'm sure there will be guys that say "I'm not just interested in sex..." and they are lying through their teeth...er...fingertips. generalize much?

Ditto Answer me this: why are the vast majority of the ads on this site featuring t&a, with catch phrases like "meet local singles" with half-naked women on them or adult friend finder, etc. The same reason you see more beer commercials during NFL games. It's basic advertisement capitalizing on what people are looking for. You can be sarcastic and tell me I'm wrong all you want, but trying to appear pious on a dating site is laughable to me. I'm getting off topic, so I'll let you guys keep on saying you're interested in fantastic conversations. Don't forget to stop by the "would you like to see the person above you naked?" forum on the way out. |

TheCaptain joined this site to prove that dating sites don't work. He wasn't looking for sex, his wife had passed away six months before he joined and sex and dating were the last things on his mind. I joined this site because a friend of mine had joined and back then, you had to invite three friends in order to use the smileys. I told her I would click yes and make a profile but I would never use the site for anything. Then I read the forums and got caught up in some interesting conversations about llamas and duct tape (long time members will remember those conversations). TheCaptain sounded like a man I wanted to chat with so I dared him in the Games section to email me and the rest is history. 
So, generalizing things can be way off, in our case it sure is way off. (btw, the friend I joined with, doesn't play in the forums and is still single.)
