Let's not pretend there is no racism towards white people. Though still many white people hold power is irrelevant. That's like saying our president is black so there is no racism. In my college there was NSBE national society for black engineers but there could be no white society. Treating a group different based on race is racism. Also I am currently living n Japan and get treated different all the time. There is racism here towRds white people.

the reason there are things like BET or BLACK ENGINEERS is because historically blacks were not accurately or adequately represented in the media ( a claim white americans cant make) and black students were not accurately or adequately encouraged in or aknowledge to pursue the fields of science or math (also something which cant be said of white americans,, historically)


logically, I can believe that in Japan(where you are a minority) you would be discriminated against because most times the MAJORITY will look after their own interests either in spite of or at the cost of the minority

the issue I take with the argument about whether there are white organizations in america is the inconsistency in the argument,,,MOST of the time(not counting you because I havent seen all of your posts) the same people who insist free market will square things away and insist that people should 'help' themself ignore the reality that 'helpint' oneself requires resources

so when minorities who have HISTORICALLY(in america) been at the bottom of the list to have access to those resources try to create their own,, those same people cry foul

you cant say people have to help themself(a privilege mostly afforded to white males in america) and then accuse them of being seperatist, racist, or sexist when they do,,,,

Yea it's common here in Texas too. My ex boyfriend of 3 years was an illegal Mexican. His family hated the fact that I was white. My ex and I would talk about it all the time. Take this for example. Mexicans come here daily and mingle with us, work with us and even date us. Yet... if an american goes to mexico, you might be stabbed, robbed, shot, ect. It's a perfect example. Like that woman and her husband who were on jet skies and they went over to the Mexican side and the man was shot and killed by Mexicans. Luckily me ex was capable of admitting the truth about things so we could have honest discussions about it.

Not to mention that blacks get more time for the same crimes as white people commit. Just this past year they finally equated crack as "coke" to stop the bleeding. Maybe the reason they get more time is they are repeat offenders and screw ups the judge knows! I have yet to see any empirical evidence blacks serve more time than whites or anyone else.

In NY city they are calling it a hate crime right off the bat and i am not saying its not.. sounds like it.

But whatever happened to the young man i believe in Detroit a wazes back that was dating a black girl both like 18 and he had been taunted for it and his family accepted her with open arms but one night 10 black youths i believe about killed him.. beat him silly over him dating this black girl.

They wanted to call it a hate crime but didn't people rise up and say it was not.. i know a few ministers black ministers did rise up and say they thought it should be prosecuted as a hate crime.. but does anyone know if it was or not?

The biggest perpetrators and instigators of racism are the government, politics and the media.

"White America, Black America, White Votes, Black Votes, Hispanic Votes, Is Obama Black enough? White enough? , Is Obama a "mud"? Will the Republicans secure the white votes? black votes? Are the blacks gonna vote for Democrat? GOP? Does the GOP has a black candidate? Why is the GOP all white? Why is the tea party all white? Why do the blacks support Democrats? What's the percentage of Jewish voters for Democrats? Muslims? Arabs?

You don't even notice that you have been placed into various groups, regardless of what you think of yourself and you have been TOLD what the whites and the blacks gonna vote. The Government and the media treats you all like groups, not individuals with independent mind.

Can you find 2 people who think the same way? Of course not. What would make you believe that 10 or 10,000 would think the same way?

And yet you believe how the "blacks" gonna vote, and to top it off, the blacks think they all "supposed to" vote this way or that way, because the TV said so..and then Obama is loosing the "white" supporters, so now, if you think you are a "white" person, you should be distancing from Obama, since the media "told you so".

And, therefore, sometimes, 'racism' (in the sense of unequal treatment) is a good thing.

I really do think that we have to look carefully at context, and at situations. When I see situations in which blacks are encouraged in a way that discriminates against whites, I see them as racist, and I see them as probably beneficial for our society.
