If people thought of themselves as Americans first this thread would have never been started. thats true, but then america wouldnt be the same america if that were true either , race based hiring practices, racially discriminate educational opportunities, racial criminal profiling, race based slavery, nor race based jim crow laws would have existed if ONLY people in america didnt make RACE a significant and important issue |

He even has some really close friends who are African American. I bet Beck does also and I know Hannity does. Im sure they do, but my statement referred to their AUDIENCE I have MANY friends of all races who listen to Rush, Hannity and Beck. Im sure they do, but the predominant AUDIENCE of Beck is NOT black people,, the predominant AUDIENCE of Farrakhan is not WHITE people neither statement supposes that beck has no black listeners or Farrkhan has no white listeners |

lol @ what obstacles dig deeper into american history, the laws and policies that were implemented since its inception(the start of the 'race') i'm talking about now, not 200 years ago...move to the present times, you will find it really is not so bad not so bad is not the same as not needing improvement,,, and 'not so bad' is an extremely subjective assessment like i said... everyone has the same chance to succeed in life...so whos fault is it if someone decides to sell drugs instead of studying? when a minority drops out of school, it's the white persons fault? I guess I have to go through this again. When you have generations of lack of education and living a life of struggling. Struggling at a level no white person can understand because they are white in a "white preferenced" work force and social standing country. And the children watch their parents deal with racism making them understand that they will be mistreated because of their skin color causing conceptions that lead to actions that cannot be understood by said white persons who can't be in those shoes ever. Minorities are more likely to be hopeless and despondent of motivation because of what they grew up with. Again white folks cannot even comprehend. Can this be worked through, sure, but it is several obsticals no white kid has to endure. When a minority child makes it to college, if the college will accept them, they have worked harder to get there than any white child in this country. Now that needs to change and only with true equality and true fairness can it happen. Do black folks have issues in their families and communities to work through because of the generations of abuse they have endured, you bet. But if would make it easier for them if they didn't have to endure more of it today. |
