i don't know why they wouldn't talk to you...you are great lex! I am not having much luck w/ anyone from around minnesota either so maybe it's them not us?? (just a guess...)

I think with the internet it is hard to see the whole person, you can't see thier actions, hear thier voice or any of the things that you would normally use to evaluate someone that you might want to date. And a lot of people are looking for miss/mister perfect (whatever that is).

It may have something to do with the individual website -- I was on one where the locals had no problem with sending me e-mails (174 in three months, and the vast majority were Illinois people), and I never wrote anybody first.

And that site didn't have forums, so all they had to go by was my very long but better-written-than-most profile. Which, as it turned out, didn't even really need to be all that better-written, since most of the people who wrote to me obviously never bothered to read it all the way through, or else they would have known that they would be wasting their time writing to me, because I am NOT going to go meet you in some hillbilly bar.

I would think that here, with the forums, and my 3700-some-odd posts, there is certainly enough material to give anyone some idea of who I am. Especially if they read the llama posts.

I just need to find a site where they have some communicative locals who are actually looking for someone to talk to....

I'm here with my possitve attitude again,but you may never meet the one of your dreams on a site.It could be the the grocery store,an event,or anywhere.You seem to have alot of people right here that are your friends.

Friends keep telling me to go to Barnes and Nobles that is the place to meet locals with similiar interests....as my one friend put it, at least you know they can read.....snobs galore in my area also, so I know how you feel...

Take the llamas, attach a 5th wheel camper to them, and start traveling around.......campgrounds have internet hookups now...and head to Canada..........to visit with Whisper
