Pam -- You know what's funny, I really do feel accepted and appreciated here, by the vast majority of those I have interacted with. Just not the ones within a 150-mile radius of me.

It's the strangest thing, I don't really understand WHY there should be such a difference between locals and everybody else, but there is. Others have mentioned it, too. And it's not strictly a Chicago thing (I am hearing about a similar phenomenon in Houston), but Chicago appears to be some sort of Black Hole of JSH Discourtesy and Rudeness and "Don't-Bother-Me-With-Your-Friendly-And-Positive-Emails-Because-I-Will-Not-Answer-Them-Regardless".

And I would REALLY like to know why....
