Well, I thought I'd give it one more shot. I saw a profile of someone in Illinois, someone who recently joined and who I thought looked intersting, so I sent her a brief e-mail encouraging her to post in the forums and get to know some people.

Shortly thereafter, she made two posts, totaling seven words, and never even bothered to reply to the e-mail.

Well, I've had enough of this. I can get correspondence here all day from Canada and New York and Texas and Washington and even Europe, but the people around here just apparently don't want to be disturbed.

I love JSH, there are all kinds of great people here. I have never seen so many good people concentrated in one cyberplace before, and I have made some amazing friends here.

But it looks like I am going to have to go elsewhere if I want to find some locals who are actually willing to talk to people in their own area. And that's a shame, but they're just not here.

At least you got locals, I have yet to see a fellow Montanan, but I do see yer point.

Sorry they are so standoffish there Lex - but come to Washington - heck, we will yak your ears off, I am proof of that.

Hey some states are promising, a couple of you are still new, need to get in the forums so people can get to know you. It does work to be more public, people will start writing you.

I don't know what is wrong with the people in Illinois, Lex, they are fools to miss out on talking with you.

True, IRon and Gypsy, 2500 miles or so keeps them from just dropping in on you unexpectedly I guess. Can work both ways though, depressing at times too.
