I have a cat that is intelligent. He was noticing I had taken the window out between the house and the new room I am building. He was perched on the window sill looking at the house and looked at the new room. It was like a light bulb went off in his head that the two parts were meant to be as one.

I have a dog that is intelligent. I was calling her and she was on the ground and I was on the roof of the new room. I told her to jump and she just looked at me like I was crazy.laugh

Yep, yep! Some people construe that as odd, though.

I can understand that but my pets have just gotten used to me and don't see that as being any odder than I usually am.

I do not set age limits for who can contact me. However, the further from my age you are the closer you need to look like George Clooney if you wish to date me.

Is not odd for people to set age limits. Is odd for men who are older than my father to contact me looking for real life "friendship". Forum friendship is fine but I do not know of too many women my age who regularly go out to movies or dinner, even as just friends, with men older than their father.

She doesn't want to hear from old guys.

My profile used to state my height and weight, and that if you weigh as much as I do or more this ain't going to work. Sure enough I got mail from ladies who felt that I was being close minded, unfair, shallow, that I should give women a chance..........
I didn't want to date a woman that weighs over 200 lbs.

I don't drink, ever. I could have put a block on my mail that excludes drinkers.....but there is a big difference between someone who has and occasional drink and someone who drinks for any occasion.

if someone put on their restrictions they would not accept messages from people whose names start with R,would that seem odd to you or would you think it was narrow minded of me to think it was odd?

I'd think it far odder of you to be so upset about it.

Just shrug your shoulders and move on. You don't know the reason they made the decision they did to have that restriction. It's a waste of energy to get bent out of shape over it.
your response points out to me one of things i really hate about this form of miscommunication.you got the idea that i was upset or bent out of shape over this age restriction thing which was not the case at all.i was just trying to figure out why some people do the things they do(analize it and get to the heart of the matter)i think cutiepie hit on it in her response and its all about looks.that age restriction is just a very inefficient way weeding out people that you would not want to talk to because of the way they look.i would bet that if somebody had a restriction of forty but met someone 42 that looked 30 they would have no problem dating them much less talking with them.i could delve a lot deeper into this but i think i,ll just take your good advice and shrug my shoulders and move on.(or is it to late for that)

I apologize then. It's how it "felt" coming across.

Unfortunately, short of asking the person why they decided they did, and I still feel that as a waste of time, you won't ever know.

Personally, any of the restrictions I am adamant about are because I've tried not to put restrictions in place to begin with and got screwed over because of it. After three times, it would be downright foolish to continue trying to bash my head against that wall. I'll I get is a headache.
