Mingle has always been cliquish, but it's not nearly as bad as it used to be. This is absolutely true. When I first signed up, there was a clique of "originals" who did everything they could to keep new people OFF the site! Thankfully, that crew is no longer here (as far as I can tell). The "cliques" that exist now -- and I'm not even sure that's the right word anymore -- are few in number, and not particularly interesting to interact with. Frankly, if they want to do the occasional 47-page thread with only the 6 of them making all the posts, I figure that's OK -- I know what to avoid! Many people here do have a good sense of humor, though. Perhaps it's just different than yours? There are a lot of people here with a great sense of humor. But it's true that there are some who seem to have undergone one or more humorectomies. I don't let that have any impact on what I post. Nobody is forcing them to read it, and God only knows nobody can help them understand it. It's really not bad anymore at all. There aren't people who are extremely rude to new members or members outside of their little circle. That's a good thing. Definitely. You never see the kind of blatant, egregious incivility that some of the "old cliques" brandished so spectacularly a few years back. What it is now is just the occasional group of totally insular individuals. They're not rude to anybody, in the proactive sense, they just ignore anyone who isn't part of their crowd. Which is OK, because once you've identified them -- and there aren't really all that many, although some do tend to post a lot -- you can all the more easily avoid them. I agree Lex. I originally joined on here a couple of years ago and was basically chased off by some pretty rude people who I don't see here now. I was gone for more than a year before I rejoined recently. It's a lot better now

I am barely a member here for one month. It seems like a lot of people lack sense of humor or common sense. What gives. If you don't get it, why reply? It's fun to mingle but funny how clickish it can be here as well. Just a thought as I read through different peoples threads. You are welcome at the Milky Way Bar. You can BYOB. Bring your own candy bar. Sometimes I just bring a Snickers.
