Yes or No
Why? (pretty straight forward topic huh? ) |
|
|

Personally I wouldn't have an issue with one. If I marry someone (which probably won't happen but never say never) and they are financially better off than me (which is a lot of people) then they should protect what they have earned. If they truly love me, I know they won't want me to be hurt in case of our separation so they will be caring and considerate with the prenup.
I never look at another person's money as mine or think of ways to get it. That isn't cool to me. |

I'm the same way (not looking to get married though lol)
I can sign a prenup and be ok since it's not about money and I intend to be there forever Even after my divorce (years ago) I didn't take what I could have because I felt it was his. I didn't need his stocks or 401k. It would have been nice....but not needed. |

I always want to earn my own. So if he wants to give me something out of the kindness of his heart and I trust him, that would be okay but I do not want what is his.
My mom says that is stupid. Women are suppose to be looking for financially secure men and getting into a legal situation so they can get half or more. She and I do not get along well. I think it is a generational thing too. Women of the past had to look at things differently. |

I think they're a good thing. I noticed they even have co-habitation agreements to sign as well. I thinks its a good safe way to cover yourself from a possible ending of a relationship, and unfortunately, since I rarely see any good endings, it could be very helpful.
I know, at the very least, I will have a contract drawn up for my animals that they are mine, and will come with me or go to my folks if I die. Having paperwork on Belladonna from the adoption group I got her from protected her when the ex, who didn't want her to begin with tried to come and take her. I had signed the paperwork alone, and the foster mother called him up and said if he pushed it, the paperwork required Bella to be turned back to the group and then a decision would be made. He backed off. |

Yes or No Why? (pretty straight forward topic huh? ) Yes; to protect one's assets i.e. property, business, money, etc......if you marry and divorce. Particularly if one is wealthier than the other, one is high in debt or to protect oneself from gold-diggers. |

I have never known anyone that signed a prenuptial agreement.
I know they make for great plot twists in dramatic storylines. Weren't prenups designed to force everyone to do the right thing when dissolving a marriage? You can't take that SOB for everything he's got and he can't kick you to the curb. Suppose everyone should be a lot more choosey about who they marry? |
