I don't think that it's about
wanting to be in control (well, mebbe for some)
it's about honesty, integrity, respect
and a somewhat altruistic mindset. (other's matter)

I don't want to rescue... just help.
if you don't need help just say so.
Helping other's is sometimes
letting them do it on their own.

here's a old world definition.
Comforter: one who comes alongside
to fortify...
comes along beside you, doesn't lead the charge.

just my "old fashioned" opinion...

I gotta go shine my armor now... haha.

(no soup for you, Kim... haha)

Do you just feel the need to help anyone and everyone? I can understand if it's needed.. but I guess I don't understand the need to just help.

Well I'm willing to help anyone and everyone... I choose not to at times. And yes, if you drop something on the ground I might realize that you're perfectly capable of picking it up yourself... but I might do it anyway, unasked.
I don't need a reason.
I don't expect a thank-you.
I don't do it only when it's convienent.
I certainly don't do it to be seen a hero.
I don't do it to prove worth or some utilitarian notion. (I've got plenty of cards to play)
I do it because it's the right thing for ME to do.
Simple as that.

I prefer Paladins, they have less hit points but can restore your health when you are fighting a gang of orcs..which, in my experience can be very helpful...

Yeah, but they aren't as good as Clerics.

I used to ride quarter horses alot when I was a kid, but when the horse outside of K-Mart went to 35 cents, my mom quit taking me.

It costs like $3 to ride them at the fair these days, but for the right lady it might just be worth it!

You know I've never understood why a woman would want a knight either. Knights are unreliable, always off on another quest or looking for a new adventure, or another damsel captured by a dragon.

What you women really want is a good old fashioned stable boy. Sure he might smell bad, but he's there, has a good job and realizes that, even when knee deep in $hit, what he has can grow the most magnificent rose.

Just an observation.

There's bad smells and then stable smells, and those really aren't all that bad. Horse, hay, leather, cedar and grassy manure (as long as it's cleaned out daily!) are great!

Very well said!
