but the things I read in this forum kill me...one accuses another of being prejudiced or something like that.......then a few posts later they are doing the exact same thing that they were accusing another of.
So here's your chance to let everyone know why you think your ideas are best. No copy and paste here, just a question. What would you do to stimulate the sagging U.S. economy? After all, that is one of the biggest issues there is right now in the US. Don't blame anyone for anything either, what's happened has happened and there is no amount of blaming that will fix it. Just imagine it's a clean slate and discuss problems and potential solutions. |

get rid of the unions, no more lobbying, and set a term limit on senators.

Create jobs.........SOMEHOW! Ppl on unemployment want to work!!!!!!! I was on it for over a year. I have a job now but, it only pays 7.50 an hour. How will I ever get back on my own two feet if nobody can pay a decent wage? We need new industries that allow the US to stand on its own two feet also.

I think we as a country need to start actually making things again instead of importing everything. We don't really make anything anymore.

I think there first has to be an incentive for more hiring at living wages,,, its a difficult question, similar to the question of whether the egg came first or the chicken but the cycle goes like this citizens need MONEY to buy goods and services, producers of goods and services need CITIZENS to purchase them, and to PRODUCE them cant keep cutting back on peoples wages and employment and expect to continue selling the products at increasing prices bottom line , for me anyhow, is companies will have to 'settle' for a little less profit(not to be confused with NO profit) in order to invest in hiring until the consumer base is back up to an income level that can support increasing the prices and the profits once again it has to start with getting people working and for livable wages,,, |

I work for a little old comp. that makes knit gloves. Does that count? They even export......a wee tad. Great for you. There are many like you. Folks who will take what they can and look for better instead of suckin' the last dime out of the unemployment. They won't take a job they feel is beneath them or less than they "think" they are worth. Worth is subjective. They gonna' be in a world of hurt when the well runs dry. |

They gonna' be in a world of hurt when the well runs dry. and until what they CAN take is offered to them, what should they do....? does taking what one can include prostition, escorting, drug dealing,, after all they all pay someone money instead of them just taking the 'handout' of unemployment or assistance their taxes paid into.... standards means that something should be a PRIORITY over others, just saying you 'earn' a check isnt the point... is it worth it to make 7 bucks an hour and spend forty to sixty hours allowing others to raise ones child when the first 3 bucks per hour is going just to childcare and one of the remaining four will go to taxes,,,,,? ID rather raise my own child for those forty hours a week until I find an income that permits me to actually move us FORWARD in life (and not just financially) |

End all foreign wars (doesn't do anything for the economy though but still) and continue the stimulus that Bush started only targeting those companies that produce here and buy stock here. If they don't already do it, make it advantageous for them to buy here.
Make the taxes on the wealthier what it should be instead of what Bush made it. Hell even Buffet said the wealthy have been getting by without contributing much, he said they should be paying more and he is willing to pay more and so are his cohorts. Make all good illegals legal so they can contribute to the income tax like they should be after paying a penalty or fine which will contribute too. Just on whimsy, make Arizona pay extra taxes for a full year for trying to pass prejudice laws in this country. That is all I can think of for now. |

clean up your own back yard and stop interfering with the politics of other countries... I agree. I wish the feds would quit messin' with states who are trying to clean their yards. Feds need to enforce the Rule of Law and Immigration Law. Caps on legal foreign workers. When all US citizens are employed, any openings can be offered. No more free rides for refugees. If they are caught slamming the US, immediate deportation. Have Politicians sign Loyalty to the Citizen contracts and make them legally liable for lying to get votes. |

Would it be easier on handouts...of course...but not nearly as safe as working. I work at a job that is ok...am I looking for better you bet. Always looking for ways to better myself and my little girl's life. And three cheers for the workin gal up there...! |
