he simply renamed it....now before any of you jump on my case I got that quote from a website and thought it was interesting is all. What do you think about it?

Actually he has stopped the combat part of the war.

You must remember that we habitually leave military in every country that we enter.

We have troops all over the world, not in war, just there.

Iraq and Afgan will be no different.

We will have troops there forever.

As we have always done.

Check it out, look it up.
he didn't stop it anymore than bush did 3 years ago...
just a play on words for the voters

Smoke and mirrors.

Anybody that thinks that anybody else would think that the war would just disappear just because Obama is in office is foolish and really has'nt been paying attention.

Listening to Obama bashing is like Brett Favre news on a slow news week. Take the smallest thing even if it's meaningless and try to stir the pot.

People are so foolish. Remember all of the Clinton bashing? He was sooo horrible of a President right? So bad in fact, we all made so much money, well, if we payed attention. Oh wait, that was because of Regan's trickle down economics right? yeah okay, people are so clueless.

Now look at two members of a certain political family. Between the both of them, there is a responsiblity for creating and funding the very same 'terrorists' that later came back and killed all those people on 9/11 and then later invaded and wrecked a country even more under the guise of finding said terrorists.

Trying to pick at meaningless things like "oh no, Obama's taking credit for stoping the war, he can't get away with that!" does'nt make up for people not standing up against a Tyrant who bombed Baghdad the very first chance he got. Cowards.

clinton was a great prez...obama just sucks, plain and simple..

He couldn't give the order on Bin Laden or any others in AQ.

it wasnt ever a war to begin with..it was an invasion...the WAR was against Afghanistan and Osama bin Laden..who by the way is still at large...you have such a powerful country, with so many weapons of mass destruction and you still manage to let the Number One bad guy get away...but hey, its ok, at least you managed to hang your Lacky Hussein by the neck till dead...and blow that part of the world back into the stone age...

good job guys...

Yeah ok why don't you take a trip down to Iraq or Afghanistan and tell all those people you want the Taliban back in control, you want to take away their voting rights, and you want everything in those countries run by a power hungry lunatic dictator who can stay in power as long as he wants and he doesn't care if you live or die.

You can also tell all those women in Iraq that they can go back to the only job allowed to them before the War.A school teacher.Tell them you want them out of the Government, you want Sharia law back, and that they are nothing but property to the men of that country.

You can also tell all the victims of terrorism and their families that all those terrorist leaders captured or killed including those responsible for crimes dating way back into the 1970's were in vain.Tell them the world was better off with them here.Tell them we should have never invaded Iraq or Afghanistan.

If you had any respect for life at all you would realize that because of these two Wars we are a one big step closer to World peace.World peace will become a reality once Islam is confined to the basements and caves where it belongs.

that may prove to be true, but while he has'nt done anything that would be truly praiseworthy, he's done nothing worthy of condemnation either.

be honest with ya, i'm just sic and tired of both parties getting in each others way in getting things done. they do things to actually not help but hurt us more just to prove each other is a better party. this war for control is going to be our countries downfall.

If you review presidential history a little you'll see they are all playing the same agenda.
NAU and SPP for example.

I even remember Hillbilly Clintons speech to women in China. She bashed China for their human rights abuses against women and female babies.

Now, she's over there on her knees suckin' up to 'em.

Hell, look how close Clinton and his wife were to Arafat and His Wife. That guy was a true criminal in every sense of the word, but yet Clinton embraced him.

In November 1999, at a function inaugurating a new American-funded health initiative in the West Bank, Suha launched into a tirade against Israel, making unsubstantiated claims that the Israeli government was responsible for cancer rates in Palestinian areas.

Then-U.S. First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton was present at the ceremony and was sitting feet away from Arafat on the dais when the remarks were made. Unsure of how to handle the Palestinian first lady's unexpected outburst, Clinton accepted a hug from Suha and kissed her on the cheek. A senior Palestinian official later apologized to Washington for the embarrassment caused to Clinton and noted that Suha's claims could not be verified. Clinton herself later explained that she was not fully aware of the nature of the speech and that the English translation was difficult to follow.

Ummm ... it was IN the Stone Age already - or is there a 'nicer', more 'politcally correct' and 'sensitive' way to describe it when a 'nation' indulges in things like 'rape rooms' and drops living human beings into wood chippers for amusement ... ?

Beating, raping and killing members of a failed olympians family.............

Obamas little pep talk was nothing but hot air.I guess he thinks we are all stupid enough to believe he fullfilled a campaign promise to have the troops out of Iraq in August,2010.

"The end of combat operations"???Which means what exactly? Our soldiers are walking around unarmed now?Our tanks, helicopters, and fighter jets don't carry ammunition? The fighting is over?

Nothing but a lie.The fact is there is still 50,000 troops armed to the teeth still patrolling, still fighting, and still getting killed in Iraq.Iraq and this War is the same it was two years ago.Nothing has changed except the date.He can say what ever he likes. He can say it is over.It is not over until all of our soldiers are out of Iraq or until the fighting stops.Neither one has happend. The bombs are still exploding, people are still fighting, and billions are still being spent in Iraq.

I also found it insulting he didn't give Bush and credit for the surge which turned the War around in our favor.I suppose since Obama was against the surge he would just look like a horses a** for giving Bush any credit at all.

On top of Obama being a compulsive liar I think we can also add "delusional" also. What is he going to say when the body counts keep rolling in from fighting from both sides of the Iraq war after August,2010?I wonder.

the war was never out of our "favor"...we had it won before it even started. through mismanagement at the congressional level, it took way to long.

If I was Obama I would tell Iraq that they have 30 days to get their act together. After 30 days every American is pulling out of there. If their country gets over run by terrorist again we are going to A-bomb that country from border to border.

You ar not allowed to even bring up the A-bomb with Obama. hell he's been president for almost two years and still hasn't figured out what the nuclear football is yet.

the American combat mission in Iraq has ended. Operation Iraqi Freedom is over, and the Iraqi people now have lead responsibility for the security of their country. Having drawn down 100,000 troops since taking office, a much smaller force will stay to train and assist the Iraqi forces during the transition period.

all U.S. troops will leave by the end of next year(2011, for the impatient,,)

The "war" was over within the first two days of U.S. air strikes on Baghdad.
The rest was just a way to waste taxpayer money.

So why doesn't your country and the rest of the countries around the World do your own dirty work then if they think they can do sooooo much better......Yep lets leave it to the Brazilians to accomplish the task.......not that we wanted a task of war.......most the people never do......do you really think I want to think about people dying to save the rest of the people from whatever the current evil seems to be....Earth would probably be better off without the homosapiens anyways.......I say let em go and blow everything to hell so cockraches can inherit the Earth
