Topic: Who you are, is what you know!!! | |

If you believe that "who you are is what you know" then you must also be thinking that so many people are becoming so much alike, so fast.
I say this because most people in the West and increasingly in the East are doing the same things day in and day out. For example watching similar TV shows and programming everywhere, getting exposed to the same news stories all around the world, wearing increasingly similar clothing, etc. etc. Don't you think they make an easy herd to Sheppard? |

Not I said the cat.....televisions laughable the most undesirable form of enteratinment causing one to sit one there azz and complain it got three sizes to big (umm dont think so thanks). Let me see I will be out fishing and hiking and swimming and skiing and laughing with friends by a bonfire while everyone else sits in front of their tv's eating pizza and gaining a gagillion pounds........time for me to jet |

Actually, I think people are becoming less easy to shepherd, generally speaking.

There's no dispute with the statement 'Who you are is what you know' ... that whole thing about how people acquire the 'what you know' part is 'iffy', tho'. Schools are no longer places that educate students - they are now government indoctrination centers. To those who say they're not, I refer them to the videos of teachers who are instructing their young skulls full of mush to sing the song with the verse ending in 'Mmm-mmm-mmm! Barack! Hussein! Obama!' ... Those who don't find this disturbingly similar to those cute little Chinese robot-children who marched, sang, spoke, dressed, and thought alike at the Beijing Olympics (or the cute li'l schoolkids in NoKo) just aren't paying attention. It's all about control ... and it's not gonna get better, 'cuz nobody wants to put forth the effort it would take to revise the system.

Who you are is what you know really only applies to microcosms of like-minded people. An occupation that relies less on intuition and more on a disciplined field of study would be easier to pigeon hole this way. A society of people is made up of many microcosms that could be viewed as a herd depending on the strength of their religious convictions or their propensity for flag waving.
