Do you have realistic expectations in dating? What are you looking for? Do you know EXACTLY what you're looking for in a man or woman?

I'm not sure you can create a universal "realistic" here. There are some variables that will factor into anyone's/everyone's individual definitions of the term.

Personally, I don't really think my expectations are necessarily UNrealistic, I just don't think that people who match me well are easy to find. It's entirely possible that there is no one out there who fits my requirements, but I haven't quite worked through the math on that one yet.



Someone of above-average intelligence, someone involved in creative endeavors, someone with no kids, someone who doesn't use drugs or alcohol. That's pretty much the gist of it.

Throughout the guys I've talked to and dated, I know, or have an idea, on the type of guy I want to be with. When dating, every guy has their own way of impressing you. Accepting who he is and what he does in life should have some affect on how you feel about that person. I want to see a future when I'm with a guy. If I have doubts or unwilling to accept something in his life, then I should move on. If anything, he should be taller than me, and he should be someone I can smile or get excited when he's around. I love that feeling.

I have absolutely no expectations in dating aside from I expect them to show up.

I don't really have any expectations when dating. I just go on one and see where it goes. I know exactly what I am looking for in a man but life being what it is; the reality of me meeting him are extremely low.

I know what I like and what I don't like. I know what my deal breakers are. I don't have the slightest clue which combination of attributes equals the "right one" for me. I kinda see dating like riding a wave... I can only ride one wave at a time. I never really know when it's gonna wipe out I try to ride it like I mean it.

I am interested in getting to know the person. I don't have an expectation going in. If things progress to romance then they do. If not, then perhaps I've made a friend.
