Topic: Well, what do you expect?

Of yourself? Out of others? In a relationship? This seems to be a pervading theme. I expect myself not to put on bunny ears and skip around in circles. I expect others not to shoot at me when I do this. Relationship?

Of yourself? Out of others? In a relationship? This seems to be a pervading theme. I ask nothing of others that I'm not willing or able to give... I expect myself to have integrity, be fair, honest and allowing of others to have the freedom to be who they are without judgment. It can be challenging at times...particularly with my sons, I have learned over the years by allowing them to be who they are that they are honest with me because they can be without me slamming them, so to speak. I expect to be treated the way I treat them (them being anyone) that keeps me mindful of showing respect, compassion, honesty, and integrity in my relationships. I expect myself to be kind even when 'ending' a relationship...any sort of relationship. I have ended relationships with 'friends' at times because I won't have toxic relationships. At times it has been friends and even family...does not mean I don't care, only that one of us is zigging and the other is zagging and we are not jelling. During those times I send love and walk away. I expect ALL of us to just be nice...never a reason to be cruel as far as I'm concerned. Maybe I expect too much, some just can't be nice....it seems.

So what about the first part of the question? I read a lot about what other people expect out of them and what they expect out of other people. What do you expect of yourself? How often do you ask yourself that question? what I expect out of myself in a relationship is to take great care not to say things that cannot be erased not to hurt someone who does, or once did love me or my children beyond that I can only deal with 1 day at a time, as a great man once said, "each day has troubles anough of its own." I would expect myself to look for beauty in small kindness and unspoken gestures, day by day how am I doin' so far pancake man?

In Greek mythology Adikia is an ugly goddess who is choked by the goddess Dike. How about the Hindu goddess Aditi, who appears in the form of a cow? (Now where did I put my cattle prod?)

I expect to keep on living... no matter what! and a cookie with sprinkles would make it a little easier... Sprinkles are a good touch, but we need chocolate! How about some Girl Scout cookies....... they rock! OOOOOOOOOOOO, Thin mints! Damn.... now I have to track down a Girl Scout!!!!! umm I used to be a Girl Scout Leader AND a neighborhood cookie chairperson. This is, unfortunately, the wrong time of year for GS cookies- think spring unless of course they;ve started an online business with them (not a bad idea you green beanies out there)
