I'm not one to ask people for things normally, but desperate times call for desperate measures.

I'm in Las Vegas right now and today is my son's eighteenth birthday. He's back in Vermont trying to celebrate while I'm out here trying to arrange an emergency medical flight for my father to fly back there. He's dying of cancer and his time is short. I'm not sure he is going to make it through the night.

His dying wish has been to get home to see his kids and grandkids one last time and I've been struggling the last twelve days to make that happen. He's due to fly out tomorrow morning with my mother, but I have to stay here in Vegas an extra day to get her necessary prescriptions filled that she'll need back there. I won't arrive back home until late Friday night.

Can you please say a prayer that my father doesn't pass away on my son's eighteenth birthday today, that he'll survive the flight home and see his family, and that I'll make it home in time to be there when he passes away?

I saw this the other day and didn't get to post...

Prayers have been sent

My Dad fought hard and made it through my son's birthday, but unfortunately he passed away en route to Vermont this morning. My mother is stuck in Chicago and they won't release my father's body until he's prepared, so this has turned from bad to worse. Not only have I lost the strongest man I've ever known, but we're all separated and alone for the next 24 hours. I don't know how I'm going to get through this.

I fly back tomorrow and will be meeting my mother in Chicago to take her to Vermont, and my father will be sent as soon as possible. I can't even begin to express the overwhelming sadness of this situation and I thank you all for your prayers. Please keep us in them as we struggle to cope with this tragic turn of events.
