I love hot food! Just keep some water nearby. I've drank the fridge dry, my mouth still feels numb. Milk or bread is better for getting rid of the burn than water. |

I agree with Ms. Myka...but what is the seduction of spicy pain (seriously)....why is that so appealing to some of us? |

Of adding chillies to a meal that you cannot enjoy because the roof of your mouth is clinging to your fork, your ears are ringing, eyes watering and there is a stream of fluid trailing from your nose? I just bought a take out curry which fits the above description, the guy behind the counter told me it was not hot............. I am typing this through a flood of tears!! For those who like 'hot' food, tell me, do you actually enjoy this stuff? It's relative. Hot to you maybe mild to someone else. I spicy food!!! |

It's relative. Hot to you maybe mild to someone else. I hot food!!! I agree, the people who like that particular meal must have asbestos lined mouths. I think I will stick to kormas. |

I love hot food! Just keep some water nearby. Water isn't the best to use for food that is too spicy. Because it's not temperature hot - water can't help. To easy spicy food, keep bread or rice on the side to soak up the fire. Milk is also recommended as it will coat your mouth and tongue. My fave is extra hot Kung Pao Tofu and I eat the chilis like pickles spears. A bed of jasmine rice on the side keeps my mouth happy if I eat too many. |

O!! the Mexies do that to the gringos down here all the time...Water doesnt help, try bread I'm now shovelling yougurt into my mouth. I could feel the corners of my mouth slowly blistering. Do I need to put anything on the bread? I mean, like a nice bit of gruyere? |

I love hot food! Just keep some water nearby. I've drank the fridge dry, my mouth still feels numb. Do NOT - repeat, NOT - drink WATER. Drink DAIRY - preferably whole milk, since it has a high fat content. The fat binds to the pain receptors. If you drink water, all you're doing is spreading the capsaicin around the surface of your mouth and tongue. If you had this kind of experience and you want to go back, I just gotta ask one question: WHY ... ? |
