(CNN) -- President Barack Obama will appear on the daytime talk show "The View" Thursday.

The interview, scheduled to be taped on Wednesday, will touch on topics including his administration's accomplishments, jobs, the economy, the Gulf of Mexico oil disaster and family life inside the White House.

Obama last appeared on the ABC program in March 2008, while he was a U.S. senator. He also was a featured guest in November 2004, when promoting his book, "Dreams from My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance." His wife, Michelle Obama, was a featured guest co-host in June 2008.

Obama's appearance is part of the show's continuing "Red, White & View" campaign, which features political guests and discussions. Barbara Walters, creator/executive producer and co-host of "The View," will make an in-studio appearance to speak with Obama. Walters underwent heart valve replacement surgery in May.

Obama is the first sitting president to appear on a daytime talk show, according to ABC. He also became the first incumbent president to appear on a late-night comedy show, NBC has said, when he visited "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno."

Vice President Joe Biden appeared on the "The View" in April.

While a presidential appearance on the talk show circuit is a new phenomenon, candidates for the nation's highest office have been trying to soften their image in alternative television formats for decades. Richard Nixon briefly appeared on "Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In" during the 1968 general election, famously uttering, "Sock it to me?"

Ronald Reagan appeared on "The Tonight Show" twice in the early 1970s when he was governor of California; then-Arkansas Gov. Bill Clinton was on the show in 1988. Clinton also made an appearance on "The Arsenio Hall Show" in June 1992, treating the audience to a saxophone rendition of "Heartbreak Hotel."

Oblowme is gonna spew out yet more BS, lies and racism like he always does.
He wont accept responsibility for his actions or policies, instead he'll keep blaming "the previous administration" for all the woes that HE is putting America thru.

Its an effort on his part to try to get some support for his socialist party, because he KNOWS whats coming in November!!

I dont think its going to work though....actions speak louder than words, and so far, his actions have been disastrous to the U.S. and its people.

And about the Change Obama promised? Well, so far he made things worst. That does qualify for change does it not?

Where peanuts sold us out to his ideals Saddam Hussein Obama is running things to the Socialist tune but in the vein of all politicians before him is selling us out to the highest bidder.

What is even funnier to me is he is a mulatto and not black. And people bought his supposed color hook line and sinker like good fish. Promise a free ride and people are jumping to get a free ride! Obama sold us all on "Free health care," (Well not those of us who had the common sense to know nothing is free!) and all these lazy jack offs eager for change voted for him without a lick of understanding what he was telling them. He wants to tax the crap out of us for everything and anything to support his free health care.

He also has not the balls to deal with Afghanistan and Pakistan the way they need to be dealt with. Safe environmentally friendly Neutron Bombs. N Korea is long over due to have a nuke or two go off on them preempting an all out invasion from the south. Iran? Well, if we pull our assets out of Iraq we can have some fun time putting Iran in its place.

Oh but Saddam Hussein Obama has not the balls to tell the UN to shut the Fuque up and get off of their azzes and do something instead of perpetually debating this BS!

If anything Saddam Hussein Obama will make it tough to trust any black candidates now!

Change we can count on? OH YEAH! We are leaving a legacy for our Grand Children they will have to live with all becasue of self centered jack off politicians selling us out.

Worst is that it isn't just him, The HOUSE IS THE REAL VILLAINS! 563 losers are driving this nation into the ground!

Lets not forget Congress is at a record low at a jaw dropping 11% approval rating(as of July 22nd,2010).The Democraps set a all time low for their party.

http://www.gallup.com/poll/141512/Congress-Ranks-Last-Confidence-Institutions.aspx

PRINCETON, NJ -- Gallup's 2010 Confidence in Institutions poll finds Congress ranking dead last out of the 16 institutions rated this year. Eleven percent of Americans say they have "a great deal" or "quite a lot" of confidence in Congress, down from 17% in 2009 and a percentage point lower than the previous low for Congress, recorded in 2008.

I agree that Oblowme is doing everything in his power to destroy this country from within. We are moving backwards as a society, and he is intentionally wrecking the American economy, etc.

But I dont think we should start a war with N. Korea or Iran or Afganistan.
As crazy as they are, it would be more crazy for us to commit to a new war in a far away place. We cant afford it, Oblowme and his admin. is still not finished trashing our economy and selling out our jobs to foreign countries.

If any new war is urgently needed, its a war with Mexico!!..they are a direct threat to us and our way of life. We beat them before, and this next one would be on a much more grand scale.

the great country of liberty, where preventing and avoiding war is seen as weak and a time where MORE people are paying less tax is seen as having taxes raised on 'all of us'...

too bad we cant just go back to the good old days where people just shot and killed others to take what they wanted and those at the bottom just appreciated that they were permitted to participate,,,,sigh

Paying less tax ... ? In which universe ... ? Not this one, bebbygrrl. You might not be noticin' anything right now because that's the plan 'The UN' doesn't let the full impact of his increased spending kick in until LATER ... like 2013 - have you noticed that's AFTER the 2012 election? It's not coincidental - it's PLANNED. Come 01 Jan 2011, the BUSH TAX CUTS expire. That' an AUTOMATIC tax INCREASE - for EVERYONE. Sometimes I really do have to marvel at the 'Will To Believe' expressed thru these little 'disconnects' with reality ...

as I marvel at the intellectual dishonesty of those who keep insisting the PRESIDENT sets the rules and laws instead of Congress,,who (much like unemployment benefits) will have the ball in THEIR court to extend the tax cuts or not,,,,,,

Unfortunately for us Obama was the one who set the huge payouts in motion and now he is all mad at the banks after handing them billions and they give themselves dividends and bonuses? Obama's leadership was the catalyst to allow congress to make more and more bad decisions.

I also do agree with the viewpoint we need to invade Mexico with one addendum to the idea, KILL EVERYONE WEARING THE NUMBER TATTOOS 13 AND 14! Likewise we need to purge them from our prison system. Their shot callers hide within our prison system to get protection from their rivals. Well, time for us to end that protection and execute them instead! Since Gangs are the enemy time to treat them like the enemy! Hoist up the black flag and kill them all!

That is how to win a war! Leave no survivors behind! I just don't want us to have to take Mexico over. We will have to keep moving south until we hit Peru! The problem goes all the way to Panama and deeper. Then we need to punk Chaves a whole lot and put Venezuela in its place. He wants to openly spew hatred towards us, well, time to give HIM a reason.

Peace for the sake of peace in the face of belligerent adversaries is suicide! We also could take Iran on if we pulled right out of Iraq and right into Iran and this time we take the gloves completely off! Their Ayatollah should be dragged back here and publicly executed with bullets dipped in pigs blood! That will send a clear message to Islam to stop effing with us!

Thank you, Ms Harmony.

I keep forgetting Hussein is just another puppet, a figurehead with no real power.

Too bad he can't manage to keep his mouth shut, wave at the crowds and kiss the babies.
