I've seen a bunch of guys on here say they're not making the first move anymore, for whatever reason. Others don't get hints and have to be flat out told that you're interested.

I've had to do the same thing. Once I let them know I'm into them, they get it.

I think confident, more outgoing guys who are into you will make the first move. Some lack that confidence, though.

Take this site for example. Some guys have said in the forums that they won't even email a woman first. It's the same in real life. Some guys are just not confident enough. Or just too shy.

I'm more referring to the fact that it seems to me like even if a guy is interested he waits for some kind of green light from me before doing anything at all. Like ask me out or even just for my number. I'm not a flirty person it's just not part of my personality.

Do you like flirty guys or guys more like yourself? Just curious.

I don't like guys with pick up lines, but I do get all mushy for a really nice genuine smile.

OK, this is just from my own personal experience, but -- the few here who I've been interested in (and this was back in 2006-07, when I was new here) never responded to my e-mails.

There was a point when I told myself, "Myself, the reality is it's just as easy to be ignored not sending e-mails as it is to be ignored after sending e-mails. Actually, it's EASIER not to bother because then you can use that time to do something else more productive, like shooting metal ducks on Pogo or something."

I try to see the practical reality behind these things -- I get lots of e-mail here, but not from anyone I would be interested in dating. (I do respond though, I think that's just common courtesy.) But I have no intention of ever writing to anyone first again....it's a waste of time.

Ok, let's assume a scenario Myka. Let's assume that I'm about 20 min..from you and I got nobody else going and I have already gone out with you to eat your favorite artichoke dish.

If I really like you and we get a good convo going on about many great things and computers, then I would not leave from the date without telling you or asking you about when you are free again, and probably send you a message by the time I get home and ask you if you felt good and liked my company and I would be just telling you that we should check or weekly schedule to find those times when we would be meeting again.

Thats why we get along so well. Cause i'm full of ego and pick up lines.
