Osama bin Laden’s hiding place was pinned down for the first time Monday, June 7, by the Kuwaiti Al-Siyassa Monday, June 7, as the mountainous town of Savzevar in the northeastern Iranian province of Khorasan, 220 km west of Mashhad. He is said to have lived there under Tehran’s protection for the last five years, along with Ayman Al-Zawahiri and five other high-ranking al Qaeda leaders.

debkafile’s intelligence sources disclosed Monday night that Turkish prime minister Recep Erdogan and his intelligence chiefs are well aware that Bin Laden and Zawahiri are hiding in Iran. The leak to the Kuwait paper was intended to show the Obama administration that the Turkish leader’s ties with Iran had grown intense enough for him to be fully in the picture of Iran’s secret sanctuary for the authors of the 9/11 attacks on the United States.

Savzevar, a small town of about a quarter of a million inhabitants, is connected by road to Tehran and Mashhad and has a small airport. A center for producing grapes and raisins, its location is remote and difficult to access because it is enclosed by lofty mountains and a salt desert 50,000 square kilometers in area.

On May 13, American intelligence sources reported in detail that senior al Qaeda operatives living in Iran had been allowed to leave the country through Syria to orchestrate terrorist attacks on American targets. Among them was Saif al-Adel, who is believed to have been assigned with planning an attack on the world soccer games opening in South Africa on June 12.

Those sources noted that Saif al-Adel had received his instructions directly from Osama bin Laden and Ayman Zawahiri but did not reveal knowledge of their presence in Iran.

debkafile’s counter-terror sources disclose that the purpose of airing their precise whereabouts at this time, aside from implicating the Turkish leader, was first, to warn al Qaeda’s leaders that their hideout was blown and they had better move on – which would make them easier to catch; and, second, to nudge US president Barak Obama into a decision to go after them.

A rare opportunity may now be building up to capture the world’s most wanted terrorist, debkafile’s counter-terror sources report. Last December, US Defense Secretary Robert Gates acknowledged the United States has not had any good intelligence on bin Laden’s whereabouts in years. Until recently, the elusive master-terrorist was generally thought to have gone to ground in the wilder parts of Pakistan-Afghanistan border region.

So it looks like the CIA has some evidence to look into now. To bad we cant interrogate this latest catch, who has met with OBL recently, properly.

you really think he's still alive? i personally think (nothing to base it on, just what i think) that he died a few years ago, and the coalition doesn't want to tell the media for fear of making him a martyr.

I feel that since the WMD debacle, we should move CAUTIOUSLY on reports from 'intelligence' and get a second and possibly third opinion,,,lol

Yes I do. If he was dead then the otherside would absolutley use it as a marytr deal.

He is alive and well according to several recent reports, and hell im sure a ton more we don't even know about.

I am sure we already have intelligence officers in the country with eyes on looking for him where the reports state. It would be foolish not to.

I know we have Aerial survallience. Look at this.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RQ-170_Sentinel

The 30th Reconnaissance Squadron operates RQ-170 Sentinels. This squadron, which is based at Tonopah Test Range Airport in Nevada, was activated on September 1, 2005. RQ-170 Sentinels have been deployed to Afghanistan, where one was sighted at Kandahar International Airport in late 2007. This sighting, and the Sentinel's secret status at the time, led aviation expert Bill Sweetman to dub it the "Beast of Kandahar". The fact that the UAV is deployed to Afghanistan, in spite of the Taliban not possessing radar, has led to speculation that the aircraft is being used to spy on Pakistan or Iran.

They have pictures of the plane to and links the the shot they have of it in Afganistan.

There's more evidence to prove he is alive then dead.

Your right I can't speak arabic so I wouldn't be able to read the propaganda that the AQ leadership or the Taliban, TTP or AQAP puts out to make the case go cold on Bin Laden.

I have more respect for out intelligence community then that. Members of Spec. Ops who are behind enemy lines getting intelligence and capturing AQ leadership(who ALL have stated not only is Bin Laden alive, but they have been around him recently and even have enough information to tell them that he has anywhere from 14-20 bodyguards at all times.)

Oh and by the way, before you say that America is just putting that out to keep waging war against Muslims, just so you know I also believe President Obama when he says he wants to get out of both wars(because he is a coward). So why would he keep the lie going if they know he's dead?

Holy $hit, I need to lay down I must not be feeling well if I say I believe Obama about something. laugh

Oh and by the way if I had the whole world after me, and I were a coward I would get out the rumor that I were dead to and make it look as credible as hell.

How do I know Bin Laden is a coward? Simple he lets EVERYONE else do his dirty work for him. If he really believed what he preaches he would strap as much explosives on him as humanly possible and turn himself into the closest American Troops he could find or let himself be captured and blow up as many soldiers as he could. Hes a ****ing coward.

I believe the CIA, DOD and department of homeland security over the FBI everyday. The FBI doesn't have people in harms way behind emeny lines capturing terrorists in Afganistan, Iraq and Pakistan. The FBI isn't gathering any intel until AFTER they have been interrogated by members of the intelligence community who are trained in this situation.

That is in accurate. Look at the article that I posted that has intelligence sources from multiple intelligence services form multiple countries.

Not to mention high ranking people in the Turkish Government slipped up and have stated that they have known Been Laden is in Iran and has been for years.
