Sometimes a stranger become a great and wonderful friend. Sometimes the people we grew up with remain our friends for life. Sometimes we meet people who think of THEMSELVES as friends, but haven't got a clue what true friendship is. I've met people here who I would do anything for, and others who I wouldn't cross the street for. Just because the majority of people are doing something doesn't make it right. The people I call my friends know the difference, and if someone tries to hurt them with deeds or words..you are certainly right Carold, I will have my friends backs..anytime or anywhere. 
I reckon when I'm just GONE outer space, out in left field of bad choices/stinkin' thinkin'? A TRUE friend will take me out back to the wood shed, lemme choose my poison and tan the livin' hell outta my hide so's I see a whole new face of Gawd ... 
 ... Kikk my arse ... Metaphorically speakin' ONLY, of course ...
Dunnay run me over w/ any tractors, though, metaphorically or otherwise ...

Sometimes it is the hardest job on Earth ... A veritable livin' hell on the down days ... But? That's when ya dig in and prove what you're both made of! It takes a GREAT friend(person) to hold a GREAT friend(person)!!! It ALL boils down to high standards, values, intrinsically phenomenal moral character/integrity and perspiration!!! Kate, your the bombdiggity baby.........If you or I are messing up, we say something about it.......We don't get mad, but if we did, we would never throw our friendship away. It's too precious.
The key is we think the world of each other and KNOW that we ARE the family we chose!!! I'd literally do anything, go to any length, face down any demons for you, Mike ... And I've ZERO doubts that you'd do the same and MORE for me ... 
It is one of the purest, highest loves - that/this sort of bond ... We are WAY PAST 'keepers' in one another's lives ... I've ALWAYS known you, always will ... ... FOREVER - My Word!!!
