In another topic someone stated, there are more important things to concern ourselves with.

Heatstroke is one of them.

It can get really hot and a guy can strip off his shirt with no second look from anyone.

A woman does it and, off to jail or the nuthouse she goes.

Let's all join in the protest to give women permission to set them babies free!

Whether it's from the heat, feeding a kid, or just to let the girls just hang out. The gals should be allowed to shed the shirts!

I'm all for it!drinker

US women protest for the right to bare breasts.

Changing definitions of lewdness from the top down

21st August 2009

American women are preparing for protests this weekend against laws which allow men to remove their shirts in public, but treat women who do the same as guilty of misdemeanor.

The action will take place on Sunday 23 August when, according to the gotopless website (PNSFW), "topless women will rally in great numbers across the USA to protest this gross inequality in the law and will demand that they be granted the fundamental right to be topless where men already enjoy that right according to the 14th amendment of the Constitution".

The event is timed to coincide with the month in which the US constitution was amended to grant women the right to vote, and while bound to cause some amusement, there are grave stories behind it.

In 2002, young mother and Peruvian immigrant Jacqueline Mercado had her children taken into care after family pictures of her bathing and breastfeeding them were flagged as "suspicious" by a photo lab technician. Police raided the family home, and Ms Mercado and her partner were investigated in respect of child porn charges.

The indictment clearly characterized breastfeeding as sexual. It charged Ms Mercado with "actual lewd exhibition of... a portion of the female breast below the top of the aureole, and the said defendant did and then employ, authorize and induce Rodrigo Fernandez, a child younger than 18 years of age, to engage in said sexual conduct and sexual performance". The case was eventually dropped and the family reunited.

Evidence of this blind sexualization - even pornification - of breasts in any context is widespread. Any public exposure (such as Janet Jackson's infamous Superbowl wardrobe malfunction) is apt to cause outrage, clamours for apology and a flurry of legal action.

Of course they should be allowed to bare their breasts! Most countries allow women to bare their breasts. (You'll even find breasts on many billboards in Europe)

The puritanical dogma runs very deep in this country though, so it will be a while before the over-sexualization of mammary organs ends and women can go topless without fear. JMHO.

In my travels, the place that was most free about it was New Mexico.

In Santa Fe, there's a mini mall. Next to the Grocery Store is a coffee shop with an outdoor seating area. There were many women openly feeding the kid and having coffee. Alone and in groups.

I still believe, they would have had legal problems if they decided to tan shirtless while having their beverages.

Canada has a much shorter window of opportunity for bare breastin' it than we have here in West Texas.

lol .... what is with this ... wemen thing in mingle ...
that's the second time tonight I've seen that misspelling.

not even a typo...letters are too far apart ...

anywho .... Canadian women don't bother to do it in the Summer even and yes ... it does get up to 100 degrees here now and then.

Not many do it outside of a few beaches. ... there is still the ... google effect ... minus the first "g"

If a cop sees that womans exposed nipple, she could be fined for indecent exposure.

Do you women view the exposed breast as something vulgar or pornographic?

I agree but find it hilarious that a homosexual male with a breast augmentation on the beach in my area did not get fined after complaints because he was male....
