On my way to work this morning, I saw to white vans collide at full force and go sliding into a yard. I called 911 and got out explaining the situation. There were 6 people in the minivan 4 were children, and in the other van were two older gentlemen in a work van. The one man hit his head and had a head wound. I stayed until the police and ambulance arrived. The children were bleeding, we had paper towels I was helping clean the blood off of the worst bleeding child. The child looks up at me and says "I don't want to die. I started crying and told him he wasn't going to die, that he would be taken care of......." I wanted to just hold that sweet child, this reaffirmed what I do, even though I maintain my political beliefs....The mothers did not speak English and glad my espanol remains helpful.......

What a horrible way to start the day. I'm glad to hear you stayed and helped, though. Most people would not do that.

I guess I am an idealist, because from my viewpoint anybody would've stopped............why wouldn't a person stop to lend a helping hand?? I know I am country but does it really make that much of a difference?

Yeah, those are tough..hate em. If others are helping before me I don't stay, watch. The last time I did I threw up, literally. Rattles my insides, hurts. I could have never been a nurse...

It is really sad to see a child hurt. I would have cried as well........normally I'm pretty calm in those situations. And as you did I would have stopped in a heart beat...........No matte who it would have been....

To many don't want to get involved these days.........I'm old school and still believe in helping out those in need....bigsmile

Sometimes, people get scared, it reminds them of their mortality.
Don't always undertand when people don't do somethinig, so I try to beleive that basically we all do want to help. I'd stop yet when there is a accident and you're in miles of traffic, the infuriating thing to me is when people sklow down just to gawk.
You were at the right place at the right time, and show the meaning of a true human. Just naturally doing the right thing even tho it was hurting you.flowerforyou
