Hi! I'm in kind of a difficult situation. I'm temporarily in Japan for a year or so teaching English as a Foreign Language and would like to get to know people around here, but also keep in touch and look for people at home in the U.S. I may also be headed towards Europe in the future to either teach or work towards a Master's degree for another short time. I do see the U.S. as home and plan on going back when I'm through or in between exploring. However, I want to keep my search out there. I know starting any kind of relationship is a lot to expect with distance... How can I keep this from being discouraging? - And a bit more light hearted?

The info already on my profile is a WIP. Any comments appreciated =)

Well, first off, Brett Favre looks to be returning to the Vikings this fall. Made a comment about how he'd really like to beat the Saints and that shows he still has the fire. Also, it looks like they'll have the Williams boys all season.

Okay, now about dating, how should I know, I couldn't get a date to save my life. I'd be careful with folks from the U.S. or Europe, as you are currently in Japan. A guy might start to get attached and hearts could be broken if you wait to come back. When dating in Japan, let them know you intend to return to America someday, and then let things go from there. I'd say something along the lines that returning could mean in the fall or it could mean in 2025.

I guess what I'm saying is be honest, speak from the heart, and you'll never be wrong. (Even though sometimes it might seem that way)
