PORTLAND, Oregon -- Authorities say former Vice President Al Gore was accused of "unwanted sexual contact" during a visit to Portland in October 2006. No criminal charges were filed.

Multnomah County District Attorney Michael Schrunk said Wednesday an attorney representing the woman contacted police in late 2006. Schrunk says the woman refused to be interviewed by detectives and did not want the investigation to proceed.

Police, for reasons not made public, investigated the case further last year. Still, no charges were brought.

RAW DATA: DA STATEMENT

The National Enquirer first reported the allegations Wednesday, identifying the woman as a 54-year-old masseuse.

Gore family spokeswoman Kalee Kreider said the former vice president has no comment. Gore and his wife announced June 1 they were separating.

Uh oh, another Democratic sex scandal.

I find it funny that they announce plans to divorce then something like this comes out. I can't wait to see what happenes next. So much for good ol' Al getting nominated for Sainthood like Democrats wanted.

The National Enquirer...

That's where this whole story loses any credibility.

Al Gore! A joke perpetrated on the American people. He could not get away with what Slick Willy did!

So when do the women with spunk on their dresses come foreword claiming Al Gore touched them in perverse ways?

Clinton used a Cuban Cigar! I guess it was the closest thing to a 'Havana cigar rolled between the thighs of a Cuban Virgin' he could get???

Credibility here is questionable.

And if this had happened in 2006 and been founded it would have been all over the news back then.

Sounds fishy to me.

From what I understand, the woman did not want to press charges originally. A police report was filed.
Anyone could speculate on the reasons why she did not pursue the matter until now.
It could be a "she-said-he said" issue, a guilt thing going on, or inappropiate behaviour did take place.
As far as jobs, if one was a reputable massage therapist, wouldn't one want to press charges against a client who stepped way over the line regardless of who that client was?
I am not casting aspersions on her,or on him for that matter, just wondering if there was not something else going on, and either one or both either got "caught" in the act.
Bill Clinton is an entirely different story. He disgraced himself, humilated his wife, and destroyed any credibility he may have had when he lied about having sex with "that woman".
It remains to be seen if Al Gore is going down that slippery slope.
Anybody know why he and Tipper are divorcing?
The National Enquirer may not be the NY Times, but they do get it right sometimes.

why does anyone CARE why people get divorced,, its really their business. As far as jobs, if someone misuses their position to take advantage of a subordinate,, thats one thing. But if two people CONSENT to a relationship and work together,, as long as their work is still being done and they arent fooling around on the clock,,its really noones business in my opinion

What Clinton did was a betrayal of his wife,, and for him and his family to work out and noone elses business and certainly nothing to do with his job,,in my opinion

I think these swipes at peoples intimate lives is a distraction from what they are or arent doing on their job,,, like I have said before,, I have had MANY job reviews, and not once did any of them ask me who I was sleeping with,,,it has NOTHING to do with how I perform my job or what I am being paid for,

In Airport bathrooms no less. And these so called "Conservatives" are supposed to be such moral and upstanding citizens!

But with Al Gore how much you want to bet he will start saying he invented "internet Porn" next??

My next question is when one of our public leaders is going to get caught in a petting zoo with a large jar of Vaseline in his back pocket???

Politcians be they Republican or Democrat are out to line their pockets...If you go the democrats they want to take away rights and institute more program. If you go with the Republicans, then you get harder laws on attainment they both suck balls. They all lining pockets with lobbyists money, in order to push laws for money. We vote them in and out but they are all the same just depends on what company owns them.

Do you wanna go there? How about former Goveror James McGreevy or Portland Mayor Sam Adams who had sex with an underage male staffer. Hell how about Barney Frank running a gay brothel from his apartment in the 80's. C'mon now.

no such thing as sexual misconduct between two adults in private,,,,as far as the lying,,,well, I agree, he should have said it was noones business and demanded to be judged based on his JOB PERFORMANCE,, unless the other person involved was pressing some charges against him(which she wasnt)

and funny how the sexual misconduct was only attached to him,, when SHE actually performed the activity in question,,,lol

the difference here is neither of them proclaimed to be anti gay or have any high and mighty morals. Every single republican thus far caught with a boy have been anti gay or have proclaimed to be devout christians..this also applies to men of the so called cloth ie ted haggard. I await for your spin.
