Topic: The ice cream man | |

I was sitting here enjoying peace and quiet on a lovely summer day and all of the sudden the kids outside started screaming their little heads off. I jumped up thinking the building was on fire or something nearly as drastic, and by the time I got to the window, I could hear the "It's a Small World" theme song piping away in the distance. I swear those kids must have bionic hearing.
Does the ice cream truck still visit in your neighborhoods? |

In the summertime they walk by with ice cream carts ringing a bell every half hour. It gets annoying.

Every day, and my son lets me know the very millisecond it's within hearing range. That reminds me, it's time to get to the store and get some ear plugs for that boy.

Yep...every day in my neighborhood. On the weekends I go to bed with that stupid song ringing in my ears! Only mine plays "Pop goes the weasel"!!!! WTF does that have to do with ice cream???

Usually twice. Once playing La cuca racha and again playing his normal tune.
If I were the ice cream man, nothing but Machine Head would exude from those speakers. |

Alright... you're welcome in my neighborhood! Although, I'm thinking the neighbors are already sick of hearing MH played at ridiculously loud volume levels. |

I'd actually go down to the truck and get me a Strawberry Shortcake. Then I'd ask you if you wanted to go for a scenic drive! |

Now Buttons... you know the first ones always free. Come back? You wouldn't want to ride along and see how many people we could peg with snow cones? |

Yep. I used to call him The Dingle-Jolly man. One of the kids started screaming "Ma, MA. It's the ding-a-ling cart. MAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" and went running with arms flailing. God love the ice cream man, whatever you call him. |
