Watched the world cup, U.S. vs England.
Whats the deal with futball? I have never watched anything so freaking boring in my life. Give me Hockey or good ole U.S. style football any day. |

But why is the rest of the world so nuts about it? I think it's because it's like a chess match to them. They're willing to sit through entire game for that "magic" moment. It's all about strategy & positioning. I think most in the U.S don't appreciate the nuances of the game the way rest of the world does. Plus, it truly is a world championship unlike the "World" Series or the Super Bowl. So bragging rights are involved as well. Instead of fighting in wars, they have futbol matches. |

I enjoy watching soccer more than American football. I don't watch it a lot, but I don't think it's boring either.

So is hockey, American football, and to a point motor racing. Plus they are faster and more exciting. I play chess. I wouldn't watch a game on TV. I'd rather read a book. |

I stopped watching "sports" when they stopped
being sportsmanlike. More about the dollar, and the steroids, than sportsmanship. I was watching the Special Olympics years ago. During a race, the leader nearly stopped, then slowed until all the other runners caught up to her...so that they all finished simultaneously. They all were so happy. She understood perfectly what it was all about. |
