Topic: Some like it hot | |
---|---|
There is a heat wave going on in many parts of the country. Lest we forget, it is still Spring, Summer doesn't start until June 22nd or so. How hot is it where you are? Are you lovin' it? Or are you wilting in the heat? Do you drive around with the A/C pumpin' or do you just have the windows down? What are the hottest temperatures you can stand? What is the hottest you've ever experienced in your life? What do you do to beat the heat, when you're feelin' too hot? Or do you just lay back and bask in the warmth? I for one, love it, I've been through too many cold winters in Denver and upstate NY, I'm acclimated and I say bring on the heat, except I find it rather hard to sleep at night if the temperature in my room is above 75. So yes, I like it hot, but not at night.

It was a long winter, I'm enjoying the warmth. It's been in the 80's here, today as not as hot.
I love it! Too many questions.. |

You need to go to walmart or home depot and get one of those 100 dollar air conditioners.
I head for the hills when it gets hot around here. 100 to 110 is comon here in the summer time. It's alot cooler up around the 3 and 4000 foot level, and the scenery is nice to |

I'd love to know what people think of as "hot" or what they do to beat the heat. Do they enjoy it, or do they hate it? Fun topic. Supposed to be 107 in Moab today. |

I just checked to make sure. Right now it's 85...this is perfect for me. The last few days were much warmer, I'm not running any air right now and I haven't broke a sweat.
I think 100 is hot.. Like freeon says..going up is good. Temps drop, rivers to sit in and it's just nicer. I wanna go up the mountain and be a hermit. |

It was 99 yesterday but raining today. The world set an all time (since we started recording temps in the 1880s) heat record this year.
We have already started breaking local records here in Houston. |

So, a more philosophical question. Do you believe in Global warming, or climate change? Do you say "bring on the heat, I can take it.?" Or do you wish it was cooler this Spring/Summer? How hot is too hot? |

Well I live in Texas so I'm kind of used to the heat.

How hot is too hot? Global warming is real. Some of effects are subtle and are going to cause a lot of problems. At various times I have had direct access to the root data for Earth's oceans and atmosphere. |

Everyone that snubbed and laughed this Winter when it was 6 degrees an 30 inches of snow, saying "global-warming-Al Gore" will now pay the price. It is going to be a very hot summer. Your Energy company thanks you for your donations.

Well, in spite of what people think, it can get darn hot here in Syracuse, NY. I have a couple $100 a/c's in the house that do the trick. I get really ill in humidity and prefer COLD at night when I sleep. I keep the a/c cranking all night. I cannot sleep in the heat. The hottest weather I ever have been in was around 105 degrees. I like the a/c in the car unless it's in the 60's or 70's.... then the windows down are good with me. I hide from the heat for the most part.

I love 110 dry heat - Arizona weather.
It's 82 degrees and partly cloudy today, in Sacramento, which is no bueno! I think it's "cold" when the temp dips below 80. |

75 and windy works for me. Summers suck in Kentucky. Hot and humid as hell................. I never understood what humidity was until last summer when I accompanied a friend to St. Louis for a family reunion. Holy crap it sucked! It felt like 100 degrees with 95% humidity (if that is possible). I hated it! |

yeah, humidity is tough..it's bad back east, at least it's a dry hear here. No sense in doing hair and make up in the humidity...

Thankfully the reunion was at a lake resort. I just hung out at the pool the whole time. No one knew me anyway so I didn't feel obligated to Mingle. I stayed wet and soggy but at least I was in my swim suit on a floaty! |
