umm no kings, it started with America meddling in middle eastern affairs and trying to tell the rest of the world how to live

Can we say that all the governments entangled in the war remain at fault and not the actual people of these countries. I believe, if you asked the citizens of each country they truly would not have wished war or pain and suffering on anyone.

Politics, please don't add me into that pool just because I happen to be American. Political parties started meddling in just about everybody's affairs, hence why one freedom after the other is at risk, and consequently...why our country is going down the drain at a pretty fast pace.

The military taught me how to kill the *current enemy without emotion. I have not killed but, I have the training how to respond without hesitation.\

*I state current because, in late 1971, the Gov. gave us orders to not call Charlie gooks, they are no longer our enemy. Quoted to us, I remember distinctly this part, We no longer want to kill the Viet Cong. Peace talks have begun." (I don't recall a whole bunch, I was in Germany where we had some of the best hash and acid in the world. A wine we used to drink by the case, Libframilch, now sells for $500.00 a bottle.)surprised

Vietnamese black. So full of opium, it was as sticky as tar. Goooood chit, man!smokin 4 of us would share a 5" party joint. It was rolled up like a funnel. You make a ball with your hands and balance the joint between your fingers then, pull a drag from the little hole between your thumb and forefinger. The smoke on top of it billowed out like a pile of smoldering leaves.

Lebanese red, honest green. Hash ran any where from $1.00 a gram up to $2.25 a gram. Anyone ever seen a 30 gram block of Blond hash?

That was in the 70's. Wonder what it'd be worth today?

Sunshine, windowpane, purple microdot, paper tabs, brown mescaline. Weekends in the barracks were wild! oops offtopic

Primal fear heightens the senses. Paranoid fear such as is displayed by some wanna' be liberals is the type that leads to hate.

Anybody else here go to a three day concert in 1971 in Speyer, Gemany?
I remember a tall gal with two afghans hounds selling acid. I bought a couple hits from her just cuz she was so hot!

Since fear is the opposite of love.....

I have always said that fear is the opposite of faith.

The reason is, that you can love and still experience fear. But if you have faith, there is no fear.

We're NOT 'afraid' ... we're PISSED ... ! there's a difference ...

Not really, it started with fear. Debate that until you are blue in the face, doesn't matter, it is true.

Okay I will debate that.

I am pissed that my state has raised the price of car licences, I am pissed that a young adult, in some cities, is required to pay for expensive driving lessons ($400.00) in order to even take the driving test! I am pissed that smoking is banned everywhere you go when businesses could easily install air purifiers and fans that could make a smoking room as clean as the great outdoors. (And I don't smoke and never have!)

If I had the money I would build a private club equipped with clean air circulation and air purifiers and high ceilings where smokers can come and enjoy music, dancing, drinking and smoking. When government starts telling private clubs they can't have smoking then they will probably make smoking in your own house illegal, then the sale of cigarettes illegal eventually.

These things infringe on people's rights to kill themselves as they choose. I don't smoke or drink because I want to be healthy but I will fight for your right to do so!!

I don't go out of my way to listen to him but I have never really found any objection to what he has to say. He appears to be a reasonable and sincere man. Now, whether or not someone is pulling his strings is another matter, and whether or not he is doing things behind the scene that I don't know about is another matter. But from my personal impression of him, he is much easier to take than George Bush Jr who was such an idiot I wanted to either shoot the television or roll on the floor laughing at him because he is such an obvious clown. To have someone like George Bush JR or SR as president scares the hell out of me.

Of course he is easier to take than a bumbling buffoon like Bush was, that guy couldn't even get his speeches right when they were in front of him word for word. Bush Sr. wasn't nearly as bad as Bush Jr. but both in their own right were terrible presidents, Sr. started the Iraq conflict, Jr. fueled the conflict even more.

However, fear mongering has been around for quite some time and almost every president in my lifetime is guilty of using, Clinton even had his hand in fear mongering. Obama is using a form of fear mongering in order to get more control over the private sector, because 'if we don't, we will all go in debt!' Classic text-book fear mongering, scare the people about their money and hope they hand you all of the power. I'm not saying that Obama's intentions are ill in anyway, as I don't know what his intentions are for seeking so much power, but he has used and more than likely will use in the future...fear mongering.

Great concept..

Your reply is a perfect illustration of why this country is on the fast track to economic destruction.

Who cares about debt, when I die someone else is going to have to deal with it.

With all due respect, that is a totally astounding declaration, but not at all surprising for some reason..

It wasn't Obama who caused nor perpetuated the financial crisis and he has been listening to financial advisors on how to deal with it so that we do not go into depression. I would like you to show me a fearmongering quote from Obama.

I just recently decided to buy life insurance, and enough to cremate me and pay my current debts. I saw my sisters and nephew and niece struggle to pay for cremation of my brother a few weeks ago. I don't want that to happen to anyone I leave behind. He left behind a mountain of debt and medical and hospital bills that will be paid by tax payers and his personal debts were unpaid too. Some people are responsible and others are a drain on society. I don't want to be a drain. I'm certainly not rich, but if I die I want all my business in order.

I disagree. I believe that mindset is the result of the mess we are in.

Living beyond ones means is what caused the mess in the first place. Buying all the credit stuff to keep up with the Joneses. Credit debt to way beyond a year of someones salary not including the house which is a whole nuther issue.

I do understand the logic here.

We have to do what we can with what we have and sometimes the rest has to wait for a better day.

It is good stress management to do it this way.

If you stress too much over it the chances of you living long enough to pay it are slim to none...lol
