Topic: Dealing with Tailgaters | |
---|---|
Why even be in the far left lane on a five lane highway unless you're passing? Surely at this time of night, the other lanes are a bit open?
I understand the frustration with people driving slower than you'd like, but I don't understand the tailgating part. All it does is piss off the person in front of you, which will probably make them slow down a bit more, which will piss you off even more. Even in areas around here closer to DC where traffic can be horrible, you're able to just pass them. Oh well. I'll never get the tailgaters. |

I jsut pretend they aren't there. The ones that drive me crazy are the people who tailgate when ther'e open lanes on the right and left! The middle lane is the steady flow, faster lane here. Being in such a transient place, you experience people from all over driving (or used to). The rudest are the Californians. They'll pull out 10 ft in front of you, make turns with no blinkers, all sorts of crap.
They say Ny is the worse but at leats they'll et you in in the flow. Drove in Cal and it's everyone for themselves, no one else exists. |

And definitely no insurance. Heck the percentages today in Southern Cali probably hit the roof for that .. and the fact they can't speak English anyway |

Tap the brakes and slow down a bit. They will usually go around.

This discussion came up with some of my friends yesterday and I'm interested in hearing responses here. When someone is tailgating you, how do you deal with it? Do you do anything? Ignore them? Speed up? Slow down? What if it's a two lane road? What about a multi-lane road? *Note, I am not asking for advice. Just interested in hearing opinions. usually I don't have tail-gators as I drive fast normally, but on the rare occasion that I do, I just change lanes and let them have the road. |

My next car is going to be the batmobile
I want flame throwers for tailgaters and people who tie up the passing lane |
