Sometimes the best way to handle being alone is to do something for someone else.

Volunteer at a soup kitchen. Visit a nursing home. Spend some time at a senior center. Putting a smile on someone's face is the best way to celebrate who you are.

I'm always alone on my birthday, and I treat it just like any other day.

Go on an ADVENTURE. Meet some new people. Make some new friends!

How bout takin a trip to the local children's hospital? Bring a little cheer to kids who may not even SEE their next birthday?

One Christmas years ago it was just me and my now oldest daughter. No family or friends to spend the day with. We ended up makin a Christmas coffeecake and taking it to a retirement home .. Wow, I can't tell you what a blessing it was to make the rounds, encourage others. I left there so 'full' ..




I find when I could focus on 'alone' focusing on those less fortunate really brings me up. Just sayin ..

Go out. Get yourself a huge piece of cake and sing happy birthday to yourself. That's what I do.
