My Birthday is coming up on the 19th and I'll be alone. My family is far away and my best friends have moved to other countries.

What does one do on a Birthday when she's all alone?

The same thing you would do on any other day you are alone.

Fill it with some enjoyment alone

or

Go out and meet some people to share it withflowerforyou

Sometimes the best way to handle being alone is to do something for someone else.

Volunteer at a soup kitchen. Visit a nursing home. Spend some time at a senior center. Putting a smile on someone's face is the best way to celebrate who you are.

I'm always alone on my birthday, and I treat it just like any other day.

How bout takin a trip to the local children's hospital? Bring a little cheer to kids who may not even SEE their next birthday?

One Christmas years ago it was just me and my now oldest daughter. No family or friends to spend the day with. We ended up makin a Christmas coffeecake and taking it to a retirement home .. Wow, I can't tell you what a blessing it was to make the rounds, encourage others. I left there so 'full' ..

bigsmile bigsmile bigsmile

I find when I could focus on 'alone' focusing on those less fortunate really brings me up. Just sayin ..

No matter what have a great one!!!

Go out. Get yourself a huge piece of cake and sing happy birthday to yourself. That's what I do.

Torgo70: LOL! I don't know any birthday-themed horror movies, but you just piqued my interest! lol! Can you send me a couple of titles that I can look up? :)

Misswright: I would do just that, but spending money right now is not practical for me because I'm saving up for my big move. But I think your idea is very nice and I think I will do something I wouldn't normally do. Thanks so much for the idea. :)

TwoTallOne: Thanks, fellow Taurus! lol! I am grateful for the little things in life. I guess sometimes I just forget. Thanks for reminding me. :)

Lilangel2: The time differences will make it impossible for my friends to be with me even online. It will really be just me. But I get what you're saying. Thank you! :)

Delilady: I think that's a good idea and I might just include that in my plans. Thank you! :)

Shasta1: Yep, you're right. It will be my day so I should do what I want. :)

AndyBgood: LMAO! That one made me laugh so hard! Ah, if only I could pull off something like that! LOL! Thanks so much for the laugh. I needed that. (((HUG)))

LexFonteyne: Really? You are? Ah, well if you live near me, I could've invited you to share a cake. Sincerely. :)

S1owhand: I'm not to big on meeting new people in real life, but I will go on an adventure by myself. :) Thank you!

74Drew: I'll wrap a slice of cake to take with you on your flight. :)

Fade2Black: Um, I work in a children's hospital. :) But I get your idea. Thank you so much for the suggestion and I do plan on having a great time. Thank you so much!

Motowndowntown: I was actually thinking that. lol! Yeah, I will get myself a cake and sing to myself. lol.

Everyone, thanks so much for the advance Birthday greetings and the wonderful ideas. To be honest, I feel better about the whole thing already! Thanks to all of you! Your friends and loved ones are all so fortunate for having people like you in their lives. If you can stop by here long enough to make a stranger feel better, I know you make their lives even richer just by being there. Take care everyone! :)

Have a great day enjoy the things you love to do most. At the end of the day a bottle of wine and a good movie. Friends are a phone call away. Hugs

Carold, I'm already making a lot of plans that include things suggested by people here and I do think I'll cap it all off with a bottle of wine and a toast with the sunset. Thank you! :)

Phuque2! Hello! ((HUG)) Yes, I'm making plans now and I'm very excited about it.

Love to greet the morning, but also love to watch the gold coin of the day, slide into the pocket of the night...

...where I am held frozen on a field of glittering stars draped over velvet; stars spelled into proximity by my sight, stars realized into unspeakably-untouchable distance. I see a light slashing across that field; falling or climbing, I could not tell for sure; but plucking at my vision, like a loved song to the heart. :)
