chat with real people? I couldn't sleep last night,so I got on some chatrooms, it seems like no one is interested n chating, everyone is posting links to an adult sites, and the ones that IMed me, wanted to play on webcam. where do non-perverts go to chat?

I can relate to that. I guess you make friend here on Mingle and find out if they are late nighters. A better idea would be to start one.

Actually I go to the Applebees in my neighborhood sit at the bar and have a few beers and chat with those sitting at the bar........ there is always someone there to talk to... Normally go around 4pm sit eat and have a few drinks. You would not believe how many people go to the restaurants and sit at the bar just to have a few drinks eat and conversation. Normally it is those that don't care for the bar scene but still like to drink a few and just talk...

If it's late and I can't sleep, I find a friend to chat with. If it's a time I can go somewhere, I get out of the house to see real people.

I've tried some of the chat rooms and all I ever saw was 100 people stepping all over each other -- 12 simultaneous attempted conversations at once with little or no continuity, let alone clarity. Pffffffft -- they can keep that.

I do not chat because I really do not have the time to sit at a pc and chat. I will answer my emails through my phome as I do things. The forums allow you to get to know how people view things, though.

What a noble thought. Quit spankin'the monkey and go to a cheap bar. You will meet real people there...albeit not always to your liking.
