Even though I'm guilty of using the F word. I still feel there are times and places it should not be used as well as not every other word when talking.

Myself I do watch what I say when around others specially my granddaughter as well as my daughter for neither says bad words. As well as around others I have just met for the first time ect...

Actually about a year ago my son and I went out to eat his job included working in the gas & oil business. It seems the guys he was working with used the F-Bomb every other word.

We were sitting there talking and every other word was the F word coming out of his mouth. I just sat there for a moment then said hummm do you mind there are kids and family's sitting right behind you watch your mouth I nor them want to hear the F word every other word. He said he had not realized he was using it that much.....whoa At times that is all it takes to make one aware what they are saying.... Gladly to say he does not say it as much does he still say it sure...... but nothing like he didsurprised

Dad would have jobs where he would come home like that, every other word type of thing. Mom would give my brother and I free reign to mimic him when we talked. It's amazing how fast a person can clean up their language when you have 8 and 11 year olds cussing up a storm.

Now, I'm the worst, though I try to be careful around my folks, and kids.

It's almost a joke sometimes, if dad's had a bad day, he'll come in muttering and cussing, and mom gives him a hard time about it. Unfortunately, she can't keep a straight face with some of her comments, so it breaks down into a laughfest.

I've no judgement about the F~isms ... Finally!

But, dear me, there was a time ...

I was raised in a home completely devoid of all cussing, just never heard it or considered it ...

My father was an Officer w/ a wild temper, and I still never heard him curse even once ...

I did not tolerate cussing around me for decades ...

Then ... My child's father was wayyyyyyyy past cussed like a sailor ...

Sadly, it did rub off, would that it hadn't and I escaped succumbing ...

Now, I consider it (in its many derivatives) a relieving word of unleashing frustration corked, a healer, if you will ... slaphead

I agree on where/when though, emphatically so ...

I had a house guest this summer that was incapable of a sentence w/out, and kept lettin' it drop in front of my child ... SO disturbing, uncouth and unkewl!
