I'd like to hear about what people do for exercise. What works well for you? Do you enjoy it, or do you do it just because you feel you need to? I'm just curious about the exercise routines you all have.

I'm starting to jog again - not because I like it, but because I need help losing weight - cutting a few calories a day does not seem to help...jogging is one of the better cardio workouts there is - there are times I enjoy it, but not now since I am in really bad cardio shape.

I'm going to try to start jogging soon.. just to add something else to what I'm doing and have something to work towards.
Right now, I work with a trainer three times a week and try to make it to the gym another day or two on top of that if I can. I enjoy it, too. |

I most enjoy walking, dance, yoga and swimming ...
In my home, I also have a Pilates Table, an elliptical trainer, a stationery bicycle and a rebounder/mini trampoline ... A mini~trampoline is by far the best way to go as regards jogging ... ... It is the only thing that propels us against the G~force, therefore, best known excitation possible upon the circulatory and lymphatic system, other than going into space ... We put handicapped/disabled/paralyzed folks on them and jump, to get that same result ... Also, NO trauma on the joints and available 365 days a year ... I actually hold phone meetings or watch films while jogging on it ... |

I have a friend who had a mini trampoline. She used it a lot and loved it. I never tried it, though.

I always try something different, running, plyometrics, weight vest training, max interval circuit, yoga, max interval plyo, kenpo, "strength and shape"routine, a few custom workouts I created of my own, and lots more.I take out all the things that really work for me and try to put it together in a way that will be challenging to me and improve me...

I go out, move bags of feed, or 4 or 5 5 gallon buckets of feed, an 80lb bale of hay, push around 700lb calves. Weekends lately have been cutting and moving mesquite trees.
Impishly. |

Sounds like a good way to do it. And keep it interesting. |

I exercise daily... Weight Lifting, Teaching Tae Kwon Do, Kayaking when the river isn't frozen ( I tried it once and wouldn't recommend it. ), Mountain climbing when I'm near one, "Roughing it" in the wilderness occasionally if a tent counts, and all the other stuff except jogging, can't stand running for no reason.

Very cool. Though, what made you try to kayak in a frozen river?

What works for me may not work for you. We are all different, anatomically. I lift weights and do cardio, sometimes in the same day and sometimes alternating days.
For example: MON, WED, FRI = lift weights TUES, THURS, SAT = cardio I switch it around after a month or so and do cardio after I lift, in the same day. I would then rest the following day and do the same the next day. As far as routines, are you asking about lifting or cardio? |

I wasn't necessarily asking for suggestions, as I'm doing what works for me already. I was just curious as to what other people are doing. If there was something that sounded good that I hadn't tried, I might look into it, but for the most part, I was just wondering. |

just go to bodybuilding.com, they have all the info you could possible want. and getting into shape isn't about routines or how much you can lift or blah blah blah, it all boils down to your motivation to stick to your diet and the routine you feel comfortable with. i mean, i could jump up and down all day and still lose weight, its all about the motivation haha.

Like I said earlier in the thread, I am already doing what I need/want to do. I was just curious as to what others do. If you don't want to share, no problem. |
