i miss going to lodge.......my last relationship was with a full blooded cherokee, and helping her find her people, and her native ways was an adventure, wisdom-satisfying, and definitely a perk for my life in that sense.....

It's so nice to see so many appreciate the ancient traditions..even those with no native blood line can see how getting back to these beliefs and practices can help the planet..and I think we can all agree how important that is in these troubling time.

Mikey..I dig the sweat lodges myself, wonderful insight each and every time I participate.

Darkowl, I'm sure it has been most interesting for you to be learning such things with one who is Native. I have learned much from others..
When I am with these people I just be quiet, still and listen.

Wolf and MOW..glad you enjoyed, much wisdom indeed.

I thought it was beautiful. I am descended from Morning Dove five generations back. She was Cherokee and her husband was a doctor. I especially liked the prayer to the great spirit. How true it is about the measure not being how tall the buildings are.

I also study and enjoy the eastern traditions..and I study with a group of Peruvian Shaman...very similar to north American Medicine men and women. With all, it makes for an interesting mix. Kinda of my own brand of "religion" only I don't consider any of it religion..more a life style.

awesome..yes you should be proud. There is much history that you can learn about also. Very sad, some of it, The Trail of Tears is a fascinating history lesson. My mother is the one with the Cherokee bloodline.

Here where I live there are several tribes..I've learned a lot from the Navajo in southern Utah, there's is a sad story to.

The one's (Navajo) I know are beautiful people..very gentle spirits.

I was baptized a Mormon..never resonated with me, even as a kid. I was actually kicked to the curb at 15 because I was investigating different traditions and my mom thought I was evil because of the things I was doing. Weird...but the best thing she ever did for me.

On Sunday's I cleanse my house with sage and prayer...I don't care what anyone say's..it does feel different in here now. When I have my arms open and take the..bad energy( for lack of a better term) I can see a dark cloud being released to the outdoors. Not only me but any one who is present while I'm doing it. I also keep cedar by both doors.... but it's the full moon fires each month that really freak out my neighbors.
