I think the majority of American's haven't really trusted their government for a very long time. Were just getting louder about it now,
making it more known. It's just going to get worse.. or better depending on how ya look at it. Were on a roll...it's not going to stop, only increase in momentum.

Thomas Jefferson Believed that a revolution was needed every few decades to level the playing field. An inevitable course every generation to guarentee that our aristocracy is humbled and still works for the good of the country.

He was a well educated man, I wonder how right he was about this?

Personally i view the spirit of resistance as a positive thing in Americans.

perhaps there is something to the idea that adversity brings us out the other side stronger,,, it was RESISTANCE , after all that ended slavery and jim crow laws,,,,

resistance can often bring some sort of change, sometimes its the change those 'resisting' wanted and sometimes its not,, but change comes...

Lest we forget ... it was Democrats who INSTITUTED slavery and 'Jim Crow' laws ... it is beyond my ability to comprehend WHY those who continue to claim that they are, today, somehow 'affected' by slavery - even tho' they never experienced it personally - still insist on following (like good little lemmings) the same party that originally CREATED slavery and 'Jim Crow' ... these people don't need 'slavemasters' ... their mentality KEEPS them safely ensconced on the Democratic plantation as good little 'vote slaves' and 'race pimps' ... Their feigned protest is just too fictional to be real ... when 'slavery' is self-imposed, don't expect sympathy from those who aren't responsible for it. Change is INTERNAL, not EXTERNAL.

I have to equate this type of logic with those who oppose my choice to date interracially as well as intraracially. The question some ask me is 'how can you forget the way white men raped black women during slavery?" The issue is not about whether I forget what certain SEGMENTS of a group once did, it is about what those groups are doing NOW and even more importantly what the SPECIFIC person or persons in question are doing.

Well, I dont forget democrats once largely supported slavery, and I dont forget that whites largely were the slaveowners, but yet today, I see MOSTLY whites who are looking to get through to the next day and MOSTLY democrats who want equal rights and opportunities for all.

For me, People (especially generalized groups) do not remain stagnant. Because of the NATURE of human beings and GROUPS being large numbers of said human beings,, change can occur within groups just as they can occur within any individual. I vote democratic, mostly in presidential elections, because so far it has been the democratic nominee who spoke most to my values and interests.

I do not go into a booth and just blindly mark all the DEMOCRATIC candidates and I have and will continue to vote in local elections without regard to political affiliation.
