Hi, that was not a smart move on his part, but the other side to that is, that a person becomes unfaithful when they are missing something more in their life. What is it that he was looking for is what you have to ask your. Most individual will not even respond to this question, because they don't care enough to find out the real problem or they just don't that person enough to try and fix the problem. Their are always signs that a relationship is going to fail, for example their is always a request from either partner as to what they would like to experience, know is the partner willing to fulfill the other experience or do they need to find it elsewhere.
