I'm not too adventurous except for some raw sushi and oysters (yummm)

I did eat bbq kangaroo in Australia.

My dad told me he wants me to try Rocky Mountain Oysters/Bull Fries. I told him I'll do it but he has to pick the place and buy me the JD, so I have the courage I need to eat them. laugh Maybe some hot sauce would help too. laugh

Oh no - I don't think there is enough JD and hot sauce to make that good laugh scared

Hiya Jess, have you ever had Dugong? I heard the Abbos still eat it, but it may be a delicacy for some Aussies. We call them manatee up here. I could eat the croc, and emu, but not sure about roo. But perhaps I already have, because there is an urban myth about McDonalds using roo meat in some of our hamburgers here. Hope you're having a great day down there, God bless.flowers

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration allows chocolate to contain up to 60 insect fragments per 100 grams, so perhaps we have already eaten insects and we just weren't aware. Anyhow, I think insects might just well be the food of the future, given how much we're consuming animal products today. Might as well get prepared for it.

It is actually an allowable insects and rodent excrement quotient ...

... Said to be what many are actually allergic to when they suspect chocolate allergy!

I'm a vegetarian...so no....and as to calling our Indigenous 'abbos'.....it's offensive....you may not have known.

my eldest daughter eats roo...it is the highest red meat in iron, and fat free, and apparently phenomenally high in protein.

Oh, I know. But my last girlfriend who was a Queenslander didn't seem to mind being racially insensitive towards aborigines. I was sensitive, but she wasn't. Forgive my slang, I'm still trying to shake off some of the Aussie speak I picked up. Alas it didn't work out. So you're a vegetarian? Interesting. Did you become one for health resaons or for animal ethics? There are alot of vegan recipes out there, but you have to hunt them down, and do a lot of produce shopping, but it does work if you put some effort into it. I know it's hard sometimes and vegetarians do slip from time to time. Maybe I'll try roo sometime, since you gave an objective opinion on it.

I've had Vege, over and over again, and I'm one of the few Yanks that likes it. Also had Promite, but not Marmite yet. It's hard to find in the States, but when you do, buy it. It goes great on toast and butter, or bagels, and especially when mixed with peanut butter. I love me Vegemite. Have some tea with it too.

the weirdest thing i eat is pizza topped with jalapenos, green olives, and pineapple. the sweet, spicy, and salty/sour really complement each other.

i am also a complete vegetarian...and "slip" isn't even an option. my stomach turns just thinking about it.
