Where Is My Reflection
I am that bastard, hidden like a treasure to be discovered but love did not hunt nor did it seek. Cold nights and prayer, oh why has thou forsaken me? Life is not asking too much it is not wanting more than I should have; a chance The birth of my brother and sister left me the stranger in the house. The difference between my father and theirs is that he is home. Searching for solace under the stars alone I run. Fast and far in search of him. I am that bastard who lives alone in the midst of a family’s love. Funny to wake another day alone. Where is he? Oh why has thou forsaken me? I want to be worthy of this family’s love; our mother has tried but to no avail. I am him, the man not here. The man gone from her life forever. He is me. The bastard searching for home. |
