I HATE confrontations, it's innate in me to be a peacemaker ...it's all about the love

However I won't be stepped on...and will fight the good fight. Not everything is my fight and not everything is my business. Live and let live..as AngelArs said, choosing battles. I do tend to feel empathy for the underdog and many have not understood my thinking..

oh well!

Sometimes you gotta know when to keep your mouth shut!
I would never compromise someones feelings (provided
they are close to me) or my job or anything like that
just for some pointless fact I would be trying to make.

Well, I would have said that if you hadn't already.
Older and wiser, I can bite back just about anything.
In the end.
We win.

If I spoke my mind no matter what the cost at work my azz would be fired.

If I did that in my personal life I would lose friends. They would know how I honestly felt, but they probably wouldn't want to confide in me anymore.

I am as honest as a can be to ensure I don't get walk all over and I do it without disrespecting people.

I agree wholeheartedly. An example of a time to speak my mind vs a time to hold my tongue would be,,,In a public meeting where someone stands up and announces their plans to go 'gay bashing'(this actually happened) where I find it IMPERATIVE to publically make it known something is unacceptable and that people such as myself remain aware and watchful. OR

On a public forum where opinions have run their gamut on any particular topic and turned mostly into a personal bashing session where noone is truly trying to understand anyone elses point of view as much as put others down for having one,,,,thats when I dont cast pearls before swine ( I dont waste my breath, or my typing,,lol)

I'm really hot tempered...yeah go figure! Anyway if something doesn't sit well with me I tend to blow a gasket! Doesn't always solve the problem but at least I know darn well my voice was heard...maybe for a couple miles! If you don't stand for something you'll fall for anything!

That's my point of why I pick and chose my battles carefully.

So, will you state your peace in a blog, in a forum, in public, face to face? Knowing that you'll probably face hostility, criticism, and mocking? I will, will you? We can choose our battles, but sometimes we need to speak up, and not just let it go. Have an opinion, don't be afraid about what others may think.

I was going against the grain of my mothers womb...have and do face hostility, mockery and criticism, it's got to be a battle I choose.
I could give a flying f * cK in a rolling doughnut what people think of me..

Great attitude, never water it down for their sake. Be who you are, no matter what they say. You will find strength in conviction, not conformity.

It all depends at times what the situation is and who else is involved that it will affect..................At times it is best to think things through before spouting off............whoa

Not necessarily spouting off, but would you have an opinion about something, if you knew that people would attack you or criticize or argue with you for your opinion? You stated your opinion, could you handle the negative feedback you might get? Or would you withdraw, so you would fade in the background?

Do you speak out for what you believe in? No matter what the cost? No matter who might shout against you? Or are you just another sheep in the fold? I prefer to go against the grain, because without dissent and desire for change leads to stagnation and rot. I don't go against for spite's sake, but if I feel strongly about something I will make it known, no matter what the naysayers say. Stand up, and fight for what you know is right.

I fight for things that are worth fighting for. It's one step forward and 2 back to try and fight every battle that crosses your path.

I used to be very opinionated and made sure people always knew where I stood on any given subject. Fact of the matter is people stop listening if you squawk about anything and everything.

Long story short, yes I will say what I need to say when it's important to me. My friends respect my honesty and the fact that I can keep my mouth shut if they are just venting and not soliciting my opinion.

ME WITHDRAW noway shshshs I can take anything I throw out and have many times.............Anytime I feel I'm right I will speak my mind. I'm the only one that actually told my boss at my job where to go and said it very plainly to his face and still had a job after wards.

I'm not one to back down when I think I'm right but will admit defeat if proven wrong with my head up as well..........bigsmile

But not one that I have to put it on a blog I can say what I want to say face to face to the person I don't have to sneak around and play the games. I'm straight forward and have the balls to say what I want to say.......

Picking your battles wisely should never be taken as weakness! It should be taken as strength. For I am able to walk away and blow it off is courage to me.
Man,I would be in it all the time if I didn't zip my lips!whoa

I agree with you I will speak my mind in all of those places. I also have to say if you cant speak your mind with your friends then there not your true friends. If they were you would not lose them. People do need to stand up for what they believe in that is important. If you dont then you will be walked all over cause when a subject comes up you disagree with you compramise to what they want. can i as Why?
