I have Just DEEMED my Taxes PAID IN FULL. What a Relief.

Hey if congress can DEEM a bill as passed why can't we do it with our taxes.

I volunteer to pay my taxes because I know that it is my responsibility as a patriotic American to pay them. I know that they make this country all the good that it is.

It is unpatriotic to not want to pay taxes.

I don't want to pay them but I do. So your saying I'm unpatriotic?

I think its human nature that people sometimes want to receive without giving,,,,,,not reasonable but Im not sure if that makes it unpatriotic.

Roads??? Nope...the roads here in Michigan are consistently some of the worst in the country.

Schools?? Nope. Same as above.

I don't take part in any of the " social services ", so my tax money doesn't help me there.

The government doesn't assist me at all.

Everything I have, I have gotten on my own. I have had to pay more taxes on all the things I have.

So, again, what is the government " giving " me??

@Dragoness...at this point, you may " volunteer " to pay your taxes. But what if, one day, you decided that you simply didn't like what was being done with your money. You also decided that you no longer WANTED to to give money to the government for things you don't think are important.

At that point, the system goes from being " voluntary " to compulsory because you simply have no real choices in the matter.

Taxes go towards,, Defense and Security ( 21%), Social Security (21%), Medicare, Medicaid and CHIP(20%), safety programs (11%), Debt Interest (8%), and the remaining twenty percent is divided :

Benefits for vets and federal employees (6%)
Scientific and Medical research (3%)
Transportation Infrastructure (3%)
Education (2%)
other (6%)....


so basically, for the privileges of the technological advances enjoyed in this country,, we all contribute. We pay in so we can have something after 'retirement', we pay in to be secure, we pay in to take care of those who protect our 'freedoms' ,,,,we receive quite a bit for our tax buck,, its just not everyone will agree whether they believe it to be worth it or not.
