writing's kind of cool 'cause you get the chance to edit what exactly it is you want to say.

sometimes i shoot from the hip and wish i could have worded it better. writing allows for contemplation and insertion of a little tact and diplomacy.

nothing takes the place of human interaction though, looking at someone while you're speaking, and seeing their facial expressions while they talk to you.

Are you a better at one more than the other?
Does you heart come out more when you communicate that one way?
There are alot of really good writers here, who comunicate how they are feeling very well. They describe teir love, or not, in a way that people can respond.
I've written for years (in journals) and am in awe of how some are really finely in tune with who they are. Just wondering if you are that good with telling someone the same thing- face to face?

I am naturally a better talker which is probably why my career has taken me to public speaking. But, I have become much better at expressing myself through writing and I owe a lot of that progress to the internet and email.

I think that I am both, but I prefer to talk to someone because I think that tone and expression in the spoken word makes it easier for others to understand the meaning behind my words

Writer, but really can do both if needed. I just don't really like to talk too much.

Nice to read stuff from people who have gotten to observe themselves objectively. I write much better than talk...when around people, watcher. If you're not a great talker, do you find you tend to watch people more? It can be very interesting when you sit and just listen, without making any decsion about what they are saying.

I'm a major people watcher. What they say, what they do, how they act or react to things. I find it all very fascinating and I learn a lot as well.

very good post indeed...

I am way better at talking, but my writing is improving more and more every day... when I speak, it only takes 1 or 2 tries to get my point across -- when I write, I have to write over and over before it sounds right, and means what I think I intended... :)

p.s. I also enjoy people watching, it's not stalkerish!
