"It's all good!" irks me because it's usually uttered by someone who doesn't have a clue what life is really all about.

What are some words said these days that you don't like or don't get?

Word!

Ted, Ted, can you PUH LEASE explain that word, word to me?
I hear it, see it, and still clueless.

Word is a shortened version of word up. Word up was coined by an R and B group named Cameo and became popular (sort of like the name Wendy did after Peter Pan coined it). The lyrics of the song define what the phrase is used for,,

"Come on baby tell me what's the word / Word up ,everybody say / When you hear the call you've gotta get it underway / Word up, it's a code word / No matter where you say it you know that you'll be heard"

my teenage son and his friends all say 'dank' when something is really good, "that spaghetti was dank". at first i didn't know if it meant good or bad. laugh

and they say "peace. out." rather than "bye" or "see ya"...but i kinda like that.

I use a lot of slang so I don't tend to notice it that much...

The one thing that kills me though is how much everyone in this town says 'guy' and it is a lot.

"Yo guy, what are you saying guy? Wanna meet up later and chill guy? My buddy Dave's got a wicked pool table guy, we'll play some pool!"

^^^^That's usually the time of night when Mikey's had too much and needs to stop talking. laugh
