The funny thing is people that lie to themselves do better in life than those that don't. He tells himself he's better than his opponent. He tells himself he's perfect. And he wins more often than people that don't lie to themselves. So, when applying for a job, if I can convince myself that I'm the best person for the job my confidence will come across to the HR people and I'm more likely to get it. Not quite sure I see that as lying to themselves. If they win or get the job, were they really lying to themselves? You need to read the whole story. The doctors came up with a test to see how much people lied to themselves. They asked a bunch of embarrassing questions like; "Have you ever felt hatred toward either of your parents?" and "Are there things in your life that make you feel unhappy?" The true answer to all the questions is yes. But, the people with the most no answers on their tests did far better in sports than the others. |

I have known others that just were shy or had other problems and could not look you in the eyes. Then those that could look at you dead center and be lying out their teeth...........What use to work in the past too many have mastered and overcome the tell tale signs.....

Doesn't always work, but I've learned that before you debate with someone you should first walk a mile in their shoes. That way when you debate with them, you are a mile away from them and you have their shoes...
