I live in a friendly city, people smile or say hello. I do think it is related to were you live.

If someone says hello, I say hello back. As for randomly smiling and greeting strangers, no that's not my personality, unless I'm working retail because then I'm being paid to do that.

I wonder if people mirror you and give you back what you have given. If someone smiles or/and says hi it makes me feel good and I can't help but return the gesture. I always try to be nice to everyone and respect them. Its come automatically to me and I think that you can go anywhere in this country and find the same.
"Minnesota nice"....lol |

When you pass someone you don't know, are you more likely to look at them and smile, or try not to make eye contact and hurry by? Are you the kind of person who is going to be friendly and say hi to a passing stranger? I think it's funny to watch the way people act around those they don't know. Some don't look at anyone and rush along. Others are looking around, making eye contact, smiling and generally being friendly. i'll smile and nod at everyone i see but if they look at me wrong than i'm like "oh you wanna ride this stang???,you wanna rodeo with this clown???" |

Smile and say hi. And keep eye contact if there may be an issue.

I live in a very small town and I will sometimes smile but not usually. I am a very shy person and it is akward for me when people say hello I do try to smile but it's hard. I almost have a heartattack when strangers say hi , how are you? it makes me nervouse as I never know the correct response.I know that sounds stupid but is true for me.
God forbid I see someone I am acquainted with I usually try to avoid them completely so I don't have to say anything. |

I give at least a smile and a nod if they meet my eyes. IF they don't meet my eyes or look at me then I don't do anything.
